Gimme Shelter is for me, the best rock 'n roll song ever recorded.
I love Wild Horses, too.
Most underappreciated Stones album?
There were some really good songs on Metamorphosis:
Out Of Time
Memo From Turner
Heart of Stone

Another heretic vote for Sympathy for the Devil as Best Stones Song Evah.
WOO-WOO! WOO-WOO!
There is no way for me to tell you what my favorite Stones song is, because it changes from month to month. However, I can say that at this particular time, the greatest Stones song is Memory Motel.
My favorite is a deep cut from Sticky Fingers called “Sway.” It is damn near perfect in every respect. But “Gimme Shelter” is great too.
The Next One.
Ventilator Blues. Followed by Memo From Turner, and Moonlight Mile. Then maybe Stray Cat Blues, Bitch, and No Expectations.
Honky Tonk Women, 'cuz I just can’t seem to drink you off my mind. That IS Rock and Roll
Sympathy for the Devil. Play it at my funeral.
Tumblin’ Dice, any old time
I recently re-discovered “Bitch”, so another vote for that. And “Wild Horses” is great, although I prefer the Cranberries version. Worst? “Under My Thumb”, hands down. Ugh.
Yeah, I’m a feminist. What?!
I agree, but was afraid to say it til you popped in.
I think that their best song is “Sway.”
…
I think that their best song that anyone has heard of is Waiting on a Friend.
Never be afraid to have an opinion on the SDMB, just be prepared defend it.
I love this group
I never considered myself that big of a Stones fan, but I’ll always stop and listen whenever Brown Sugar, Sympathy for the Devil or Honky Tonk Woman comes on the radio. Good stuff.
The only Stones album I ever owned was a Best Of collection that I got as a gift: “Sucking in the Seventies”. It never ceased to amuse me that through the evolution of slang, what was originally meant to be a risque sexual reference unintentionally turned into a fairly accurate description of the music.
I also like Waiting on a Friend best.
I am not appreciating the dissing of Emotional Rescue as it was the very first 45 I ever bought.
“Wild Horses”
“Angie”
“Sympathy for the Devil”
“You Can’t Always Get What You Want”
“Paint it Black”
“Ruby Tuesday”
“As Tears Go By”
“Satisfaction”
“Time is on My Side”
“Waiting on a Friend”
“Miss You”
“Jumping Jack Flash”
“Under Cover of the Night”
“Out of Tears”
Maybe this will make up for it:
The first 45 I bought was One Tin Soldier by Coven (the theme song from Billy Jack).
We all live and learn.
Memory Motel.
Can’t You Hear Me Knocking
Rocks Off
That is all.
“You Can’t Always Get What You Want” & “Shattered”.
Funniest Stones song, though, hands down, is “Far Away Eyes”. Never could tell
if this was a tribute or a parody.
Wee Bairn nailed it. The best song the Stones have ever done, or will ever do, is Shattered.
Shadoobie.
I’m not a huge Stones fan, but Beast of Burden is definitely my favorite of theirs. The guitar in that song is phenomenal.
