Best thing to do about missing FedEx package, need answer fastish

So, I watched the FedEx driver go up my street, and thought ‘they must have a couple of stops on my block,’ but 5 min later I watched him drive back out, shortly after my tracking was updated to delivered. There’s no way he could have come to my door without me seeing, and I walked the block looking, but no joy.

I called FedEx and they said what with the holiday and all they’ll get back to me by next tues, by which time I figure the driver will have no idea where they actually went. Any suggestions? This is a fairly high dollar item, what’s the best/quickest way to get reimbursed?

You’re not going to get reimbursed right away no matter what you do.

If you didn’t do so already, you can file a claim online. Since it’s over $100. (I assume), you’ll need to upload documentation.

I would also contact the sender, and let them know what happened.

But you may still get the item. Same thing happened to me, and even though they insisted it was delivered and they would get back to me in a few days, it magically appeared the next day.

Well, I was surprised, but the driver showed up shortly after I started this thread and identified where he’d put it (55 instead of 45), so I don’t have any worries about FedEx taking responsibility, but since it was gone off the porch within 30-45 min of delivery and never got brought to me, and I ordered the last one they had in stock, I don’t know when I’ll get my stuff.

The seller paid FedEx so the seller is FedEx’s customer, not you. You need to talk to the seller about this and they need to talk to FedEx. FedEx may contact you for details on the claim.

Eventually if you can’t get the seller to take responsibility then your ultimate recourse will be a chargeback.

And yeah I’d have worries about FedEx taking responsibility, if the driver decides to save his ass and change his story then it’s his word against yours.

I’m just curious why you didn’t go to #55, and ask if they received your package by mistake.

Oh I did, since that apt complex (street number is 55) and mine are near identical, same building plan, same colors, it’s the first thing I did, that’s what I mean about it being gone within 45 min, but there was no answer for me, or the fedex guy 3 hours later.

But it’s all good, when I got home from work a little after midnight, there’s my box, happy dance.
