Best 'Yeah!' in rock and roll

This was actually the first thing I thought of when I saw the thread title, but then I was like, “Wait, no. That’s the whiniest ‘yeah.’”

Won’t Get Fooled Again is definitely the best.

A similar type yell, though, is:

"I got blisters on my fingers!"

I’ve always described that as “the best primal scream in rock music”.

We could argue for days over whether Keith or Neil is the better drummer (and we have), but there really is no argument here.

It’s Roger Daltrey in “Won’t Get Fooled Again.”

I love the Joan. This is definitely a strong contender to be on the “best of the rest” list. I think she wins for best “ow!” ever for “I Love Rock’n’Roll.”

Naw, I disagree. The very thought of Howard Dean’s, er…vocalization just makes me giggle uncontrollably. That ain’t rock’n’roll.

Oh, Yeah - yello

Another tally mark for “Won’t Get Fooled Again”.

I’m also kinda partial to the one “Daniel Dennet” throws in this video (at about 1:59): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFXIALf9zDA

He just looks so happy.

Billy Idol’s cover of Mony Mony - more for the crowd yelling THEIR “yeahs” back at him.

Roger Daltrey’s “Yeah” in Won’t Get Fooled Again was so good that Kevin Dubrow told him on MTV that he copied it directly at the beginning of Quiet Riot’s song Bang Your Head (Metal Health).

Rob Zombie has a lot of good Yeah’s, especially in Electric Head.

Obviously, the only fair way to decide this is to figure out what “Yeah” goes best with David Caruso putting on his sunglasses.

If only there was some way science could measure that.

The one in “Rio” by Duran Duran…wait.

Nope.

Never mind.

Yeah, it’s Roger Daltrey’s in “Won’t Get Fooled Again.”

Great. Now it’s all dirty.

I’ll take Dexter’s emotional:

“I’ll save your soul, yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah”,

from **The Offsprings ** “Gone Away”

It’s Rock & Roll. It’s supposed to be dirty.

I do like Bono’s “Yeah” in the opening to Desire.

“Rag and Bone” by The White stripes ends like this:

Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!

Good song too.

I was going to mention that one. It doesn’t beat “Won’t Get Fooled Again”, but it is [del]insufferably[/del] unmistakably Bono.

Incuded for completeness if not for quality: Alice Cooper’s Yeah Yeah Yeah.

Yeah.

Bon Scott in “Dirty Deeds, Done Dirt Cheap”

Right when Malcolm is singing/speaking the “Dirty Deeds and they’re done dirt cheap” in the sinister voice, Bon chimes in with a sleazy “Yeah”.
As a bonus, he also adds an “Ow” later.

We still haven’t typed “yeah” in this thread the number of times it appears in the Stone Roses Second Coming album (I counted it once, it was around 80 times). I nominate that for the best “yeah yeah yeah” album, (if by “yeah yeah yeah” you mean 70s white-bread-soul influenced rock.)

this is what I came to post, is there a Zombie song that doesnt feature a “Yeah”?
