Better Call Saul season 6

Bit of a waiting episode, but I enjoyed it. Howard probably should have stayed for 2 more minutes and explained things to Cliff. I think he would have bought it, especially since he actually has an alibi for the prostitute thing.

So Lalo is going to go to the trophy shop, get Kai’s name, and then torture him until he gives up the lab? What was with Gus’s scene down there? I thought he had an epiphany about something when inspecting the power cable, but I’m not sure what.

Love Werner’s study.

I was getting a little worried there for the lovely Mrs. Ziegler; thankfully, Lalo decided to just go out the window. The guy nearly had a heck of a turnaround, from about to get lucky to killing someone in less than twelve hours.

Others online are saying Gus was hiding a gun in the lab. Maybe I looked away at the wrong time, but I didn’t see a gun. Makes sense though.

The small pistol that was strapped to his leg. He put it onto the tracks of the digger.

Oh, yeah, didn’t see that either.

Mike mentioned “the other end of the tunnel is plugged up” when they were in the lab. Is there a tunnel into the lab? If so, Lalo finds out about the lab, digs in, Gus is waiting for him? You wouldn’t need to stash it in that case. Maybe Lalo kidnaps Gus and forces Gus to show him what they built. Then Gus is able to get to the gun and kill him.

Remind me how Lalo twigged to Germany in the first place?

Prediction #1: Craig Kettleman toughened up during his time in prison, and is tired of living under Betsy’s thumb. He will turn to “Saul Goodman and Associates” for help. In gratitude for one of the associates eliminating the problem, Craig Kettleman gives the inflatable Statue of Liberty to his new friend.

Prediction #2: There will be an additional prequel series. I expect Young Saul begins airing around 2024.

He’d spoken to Werner on the phone and looked up his information at the money transfer place after he killed that guy.

Yea. Gus plans to unplug the lights and then knows it’s exactly 5 steps to get to the hidden gun.

Don’t think he intended either seduction or murder. He would have done the latter if he had to, but it wasn’t item 1 on his list.
Why did Jimmy/Saul (Jimul?) agree to the boxing match with Howard? Has to know he would lose right?

I wonder if Mike’s guys following Kim and Howard’s guy following Jimmy will end up getting into a gunfight?

Prediction: Lalo will kidnap and threaten to kill Howard, thinking he’s one of Jimmy’s friends. This will be the event that sends Kim into a tailspin.

Gus figured out that Lalo will find out about the lab location and will try to kill Gus there. Lalo will track back to one of the German engineers because he saw the label on the slide rule trophy and will get the information from the shop that made it. Gus hid the gun and practiced how to find it in the dark so he can kill Lalo when Lalo hides in the lab to try to kill Gus.

Saul was intentionally sloppy in trying to set up Howard. Kim and Saul’s plan is working perfectly based on Kim’s comment that “you know what’s coming next.”

Seems like there will be something along these lines with the two different groups following Kim & Jimmy. Maybe Howard’s guy will make note of Mike’s guys, leading Howard into crossing paths with the Gus side of things. Or maybe Kim will notice Howard’s guy, but not worry about him, thinking he’s one of Mike’s.

They’re not trying to get Howard struck off (I doubt that would even be possible). They’re trying to get Cliff to not trust Howard and force him to settle to end the case. Howard will still get paid (handsomely) but not as much as they would if they took it to court.

Ok fair point. But they’re still planning on destroying his reputation and conning people into cutting him out of money that’s rightfully his. It’s a hugely damaging attack on him from which he will struggle to recover once the reason for the early Sandpiper settlement gets out (which of course it will). It’s malicious, unjustified and cruel.

When Jimmy attacked Chuck’s reputation with an elaborate scam, Chuck killed himself. Now they under Kim’s generalship are attacking Howard’s reputation without a thought for potential consequences that should be very obvious to them.

This is…bad.

A lot of assumptions here. Things have yet to play out.

It will be very obvious to show that:

-The prostitute thing happened when Howard had an alibi and Kim set up the meeting.
-The baggie in the locker was when Saul threw a very public tantrum right before.
-The people who let it slip about the drug problem have a prior relationship with Saul.

Yeah, it seems pretty clear that Kim & Jimmy were expecting Howard to figure out what they’re doing - Howard himself said Jimmy wasn’t really trying to cover his tracks. I can’t see what the rest of their plan is, but they seem to think things are still proceeding as they expected.

Also earlier at the golf club, Kim said something about them maybe being too subtle. At the time I thought she meant too subtle for Cliff to notice, but maybe she meant too subtle for Howard to figure out it was them.

I think that it’s still a (very good) assumption that part of the motivation to screw Howard is to speed up the Sandpiper settlement. Has that ever been made explicit?

Yes, it’s Jimmy and Kim’s discussion in the last scene of Season 5.

Is it just me, or does everyone agree that the writers have a LOT of balls WAY up in the air, even for BCS? I find it irritating, and I like complication and mystery in plots.
