Better off Ted Renewed

This Site is reporting that Better Off Ted is renewed. Yay!

Hooray! Has the season finale aired yet?

Something to watch next season!

w00t!

Awesome. I only watch three TV shows, and *Ted *was the last one to get the all clear.

Good show, ABC.

I’ve been lucky with renewals, so far… (come on, Chuck!)

The site I linked to (originally provided by Twickster) says “Now a Safe Bet”

Yep. *Chuck *was one of the other two shows I was referring to, and was the most quickly renewed.

For what it’s worth, *Scrubs *was the other, and was a bittersweet surprise.

Yay! I like that show.

Has there been official news on Chuck then?

Very, very good news!

It appears that just about all of the shows with a small, vocal fan following but small ratings got renewed (though some like “Dollhouse” and it seems “Chuck” got 13 episode renewals and budget cuts). Tighter leashes for all, I imagine.

I heard from somewhere that this may be the result of very few pilots shot. If so, I don’t think that’ll be something that’ll necessarily last.

Yes, though more were filmed that will not air until next year.

Wow, Chuck is the only major show we HAVE NOT heard about it yet.

Read about it here(search for “chuck”).

I meant on that site, but there’s not been any independent confirmation yet.

But probably another thread should be used for that discussion.

I must be losing my touch.

All the new shows I liked this season – Torchwood, Better Off Ted and Castle – have been renewed.

Usually, when I like a show, it goes right off the air.

yay! I’m glad. I love that show.

Sadly, I think this is a result of the networks’ desperation. I love Better Off Ted, but with the ratings it’s gotten, I bet it would have been canceled if they had any idea of what to replace it with. They’re scraping the bottom of the barrel. Those of us who like barrel scrapins have lucked out.

If ABC is scraping the bottom of the barrel, they should buy Life from the losers at NBC, and resurrect Pushing Daisies (ha!).

No, they’re scraping the top of the audience. We may be small in numbers but we’re so cute and cuddly that they can’t resist us.

This season marks a change in how networks look at matters. They seem to be more willing to give a show a chance; it’s easier to try to build on an existing show with good word of mouth than to launch a brand new one.

The renewal of Dollhouse is a major sign of the change. It is the lowest rated prime time show in history to be granted a renewal. One big factor is how well it’s doing on Hulu (which Fox co-owns). They’re making decent money from that (and from streaming episodes on their own website) despite the poor ratings, and will probably make even more when the DVD comes out (Fox produces the show). So from an economic basis, it actually makes sense, due to cash flows that didn’t exist two years ago. In addition, Fox executives have liked the way the show was going in the second half of its season, so are willing to give it another 13 episodes.

I don’t know who produces Better Off Ted, but ABC might be making enough with the streaming episodes to make the show work on a financial basis even with low ratings.
