Good lord, that was… good lord.
I bet Kanyé won’t be storming the stage at the awards show THIS year.

I actually think a lot of the choreography in the video is exciting and vibrant. If I had a complaint, it would be the linearity of the movement. Especially at the beginning there’s not a lot of horizontal movement to engage the viewer but even so, it has an isolation and discreteness that I suspect you would find difficult to recreate yourself. And anyway, I often find that within the ugly, we find beauty still.
For a moment I thought you meant this, but that’s “crimping” (NB: contains one naughty word at the end). It’d be awesome to see Beyonce do that though.
I am amazed that Beyonce can do those moves at all, let alone sing during them - I remember seeing Destiny’s Child performing the highly aerobic dancing for “Survivor” while singing live and damned if they didn’t do it. But it’s ultimately a novelty act that doesn’t really have any artistic merit, and the song is forgettable.
I love how serious some of the conversation has gotten in this thread. Honestly, I just find the dancing hilarious. I don’t think Beyonce is all that bad(though that song is lame). It just makes me giggle to watch the 48 seconds and on moment where they dance.
That bizarre shoulder thing for some reason reminded me of Pat Benetar’s boob-shake dance in Love Is a Battlefield.
Approx. 3:20 in. And yes, I know you can do a link to a particular time in a Youtube video, I’m just lazy.
This video is a sequel to the “Love is a Battlefield” video. See my full synopsis in Post#16.
Yes, it looks like some exceptionally weird tropical bird mating ritual…
That’s what I’m saying. The shoulder shaking in the beginning looks exactly like a upset chicken, glaring at you and ruffling it’s neck.
I realize what krumping is, but the feathers do not work with the dance.
Ahhh, didn’t see that. I did a search on “Benatar” and didn’t find anything, so I was giving myself props on my cleverness.
Curse you!
Imma let you finish, but that’s pretty bad, and I speak as someone who would like to drink Beyonce’s bathwater.
Even those legs couldn’t keep me distracted.
Regards,
Shodan
Hmm. Maybe I’m lucky enough to see a lot more traditional African dance than some people, and I also see a lot of South London street dance, which is very heavily influenced by African tradition. I really don’t see why you would be crying with laughter at this video. I didn’t listen to the song, by the way, I had to watch it with the sound off.
My thoughts exactly.
I don’t follow pop music or keep up with who is popular, etc. I know who Beyonce is, and she’s definitely gorgeous. I’ve heard a few of her songs once or twice, but I don’t understand why her music is popular, unless it’s just because she’s hot. Anyone?
