She was wearing at least 2 pairs of tights. She had on fine flesh-colored fishnets over some sort of compression tight, and who knows what else. Given that her thighs are pretty much perfect even without all that, I’m not surprised that you were mesmerized. I certainly was.
How charming. A woman scouring another woman’s body looking for something to criticize.
That’s exactly what Nzinga’s saying, I think. There are some performers who are famous because they’re gifted from the gods with amazing talent, and couldn’t help but be great. Neither Madonna nor Beyonce have such god given talents. They are performers who are of average or above average natural talent, but have amazing drive, determination and endurance (and a good bit of luck) and turn THAT into the reason for their success.
Personally, I find it more admirable, in a role-models-I-want-for-my-kids way, to appreciate the blood sweat and tears stars. My kids are no Michael Jacksons, either. If they’re going to succeed in life, it’s going to take some hard work (as it does for most of us.)
Not every frank appraisal of a person is an excuse to hate on them, and everyone has flaws. Diosa was very clearly not nitpicking her appearance but responding to a specific and persistent rumor and drawing attention to clues that indicate it’s untrue.
I see what you mean, I think I just disagree about the talent level. I think Beyonce has a great voice- maybe not all-time great, but well above-average even for professional singers, IMO. I think she’s a good (but perhaps not great) dancer, but in overall performance charisma I think she is an all-time great talent-wise. And she works her butt off.
The fuck? Someone made the claim that this woman faked her pregnancy. I’m simply saying that her fucking *phenomenal *body is definitely a little different than it was a few years ago, pre-pregnancy-- and the changes are the kind that go hand and hand with pregnancy.
She’s a typical pop star of today. She looks good but has limited talent. Her “music” is manufactured and it’s… well, let’s just say that it’s not my cup of tea.
I’d put her at about the same talent level as the average regional musical theater actor. Which is not to say bad, at all. But I hear and see that level of song and dance every time I go see a show at Marriott Theater in Lincolnshire, a midsized theater catering to the suburban blue haired crowd. Good, entertaining people with talent, but not, by and large, prodigy level talent. (Jennifer Hudson was in one of their shows many years ago, actually. They like to work that into news articles.)
It depends on what you consider good dancing. She did a dance up there called the ‘dutty wine’. It isn’t exactly the best dutty wine I have ever seen, but for an R&B dancer, doing a reggae dancehall move, she did a great job. And that dance is *extremely *hard to execute.
He seemed highly skilled at the art of looking pissed-off. Whenever she got a closeup, it was like “CUE: girl, someone just stomped on your sammitch, but you can’t fight them so give 'em your dirtiest look.”
I don’t know if that qualifies as an actual talent, but damn, she’s good at looking very pissed-off.
Apparently, Bey changed up the routine a bit before they got on stage— cut two or three songs with them, swapped others in. So, everything they had been rehearsing was out the window.
I mean, at least that’s the excuse I’m using for poor Michelle.
Right, I guess she doesn’t have Beyonce’s star presence (or thighs), but she is oh so much prettier, plus I prefer her singing voice.
Ha! Someone posted that on Facebook, and while that’s somewhat amusing, like all self-important nerds, I didn’t watch the Super Bowl and didn’t see the performance so eh. Was it as good as Madonna’s last year? Because I’d written Madonna off a long time ago (like I have Beyonce), but ol’ girl’s performance was a little bit of kickass. Wait, why am I asking here? This is why god invented the internet. Will look it up now.
Also, while we’re here, Beyonce’s sister, Solange, makes soooo much better music than she does. How come nobody told me how good she was? I’d been dismissing her all this time! Guilty by association and all of that.
Prescence-shmesence. You just have to look at her work with Guetta to know she has the chops. What she doesn’t have, that Bey does, is a pass on the brown paper bag test, is all.
I understand that this society hasn’t embraced the beautiful darker hues of black women with the appreciation that I think is deserved, but I believe Beyonce has a star quality that goes beyond light skin.
I do like Kelly, though. Her song Motivation was the piping hot jam for the bedroom!
