I can’t believe how often this argument comes up.
If you believe that Nephilim refers to some kind of subspecies of human, then you can then argue the existance of a contradiction.
If, on the othe hand, Nephilim means tall person, then there are no textual problems whatsoever.
I guess to resolve this argument one would need to investigate the word Nephilim a little more deeply.[/hijack]
Nephilim would seem to be a logical inclusion in a game of this type. Personally, I’d want to be Elijah.
I believe it’s prehistorical myth. It’s the fundies and RPG world designers who have a problem trying to reconcile prehistorical legends with scientific understanding and logic.
Peace.
“The priest of Ba’al casts a spell and the calf-idol comes to life and attacks you. Roll a d20 minus your Armor Class and add your Piety.”
On reading up on this, let me just say that they got David completely wrong. Nine levels in fighter, but only two in rogue? Every single battle he won, he won by trickery, deceit, and stealth.
And I have no intention of getting this for Dad myself… I’d like a little more remove than that from the inevitable fallout. I just want for him to coincidentally find out about it from somewhere else. The content wouldn’t matter, anyway: It’s not like he’d actually read it before forming his judgements.
Looks like it provides a nice balance to DragonRaid. (“More than just a game, it offers hours of enjoyment while teaching participation to resist sin, counter deceptive arguments, memorize Scripture, and build moral and spiritual character.”) Maybe your dad would prefer this one, Chronos.
