Zelensky was standing right next to him. It’s not like Zelensky was somewhere else and it’s easier for his name to slip his mind. He was introducing Zelensky who was coming up to the mic. Unfortunately that’s a really bad gaffe.
Yeah, that’s a pretty serious gaff. It’s hard to keep overlooking them. There was also that call in interview where he said
And a bunch of gaffs from the debate. Even if he corrects himself, it’s hard to wave them away.
Three weeks ago it’d be a laugh line for the late night shows if even that much. Now it’s just one more stone on the pile.
It’s kind of amazing that we’re about to see a press conference where there’s breathless anticipation over whether the President of the United States will manage to sound, uh, normal.
It is. But we’re necessarily unforgiving considering the importance of stopping the other guy.
I heard a report today that claimed the Trump team is unprepared to campaign against anyone else.
Biden in a room with another leader of a country is not something the US public ever sees. Ever (beyond a staged photo-op).
That the German chancellor has a good opinion of Biden will mean nothing to most US voters. It’s great the chancellor likes him and, without out doubt, Biden is light-years better for international relations than Trump. But, that won’t win Biden the election.
I guess with Trump there was no anticipation over whether he would manage to sound normal - we all assumed he wouldn’t.
Referring to his own VP (Harris) as “Trump” isn’t really a great look … either.
If this is the one you mean it seems Biden flubbed again:
President Joe Biden accidentally called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “Putin,” during a speech about the United States supporting Ukraine on Thursday.
Biden’s comment comes less than an hour before a press conference that Democrats consider pivotal to his ability to remain the nominee. He’s faced increasing pressure from Democrats, donors and famous supporters to step down from the presidential campaign since the June presidential debate. Some Democrats have called for withholding judgment until his NATO summit press conference on Thursday evening.
I kinda hate this stuff since everyone misspeaks sometimes. No biggie. But in Biden’s situation this does not help his case.
Vice President Trump. Yes, he said it, referring to Harris.
After facing allegations of giving radio hosts questions to use in your interview, it is a lousy loon to say I have been given a list of reporters to call on.
I posted this – I think – on another related thread:
“I mean, look, no matter how you feel about Bush, watching him speak is difficult. It’s like- it’s like watching a drunk man cross an icy street.”
— Tucker Carlson
Say what you will about ol’ Joe but his snark about Trump “filling out his scorecard before he hits the ball” is straight fire.
Calling him infirm, senile etc isnt "beating up on him? And see- I note you refuse to name the candidate who can do that- because there isnt one.,
So, what does four years ago mean, when 4 months from now is all that is meaningful?
Or much lower, after the GOP hate machine and Kremlin propaganda people get done with her. Who knows?
Who was writing for the NYT, who hates Biden, and McWhorter isnt a medical doctor.
John Hamilton McWhorter V is an American linguist with a specialty in creole languages, sociolects, and Black English.
See, everyone wants Biden to drop out- for some other candidate. None of which can beat trump.
And just about every single person who’s been named as a suggested alternative has said Biden should stay in.
I have a new drinking game. Everytime Biden says “The idea…” you have to drink.
I’m like three shots in already.
Meanwhile …
Four Democratic sources with knowledge tell CBS News that they expect dozens of Democratic lawmakers over the next 48 hours to issue statements calling for President Biden to step out of the race.
The planning is coordinated, and some of the statements are pre-written, according to two sources. And it’s not clear that anything Mr. Biden says in his high-stakes press conference Thursday night could redirect the expected course of events.
House Democratic leadership has indicated to members that they should speak their minds, multiple sources told CBS News. One of those well-placed sources predicted that the next three to four days will be “brutal,” and that it may become untenable by sometime next week for the president to continue in the race.

I know, odd, isnt it- becuase they are pretty sure they would lose. They are gonna wait to 2028- assuming we even have elections then.
They are worried about alienating persons with views such as yourself, whose support hey will need if Joe drops out. Those are the last Democrats who would call for Biden to drop out,
Pelosi was able to go first because she has nothing to lose.
