Just like the superbowl the pregame discussion is starting 4 hours before kickoff. And just like the superbowl I’ll be drunk when the game starts.
The news had a shot of the podia. They look close enough together that they would pick up anything said off-mike. I’m really wishing that about halfway through, Biden turns to Trump, makes a face and asks “Did you fart?!” Too much to ask for, I guess.
I saw today that Trump pulled the same “My debate opponent will be on drugs” nonsense when he debated Hillary. It’s preemptive capitulation on his part.
The broadcast stations and networks are required by law to sell advertising to political candidates at their lowest rate. Some of them have gotten around that by giving each candidate for a particular office a few minutes of free air time rather than selling prime time commercials at a loss.
Cable networks aren’t covered under the rule and are generally thrilled with any extra bucks they can get. But overall, especially for the November elections crowding out the holiday advertising, political advertising is a mixed blessing.
Trump supporters made the same claims in relation to the first 2020 debate, only that time it was Fox which supposedly gave Biden the questions in advance.
Once again, the gold-digger wife who was absent throughout Trump’s criminal trial will be absent from the debate. She apparently has better things to do with her time money. If Trump was an actual human, I might even feel sorry for him, but he’s not, and I don’t.
I’m watching the pre-show on CNN and let me tell you, Ralph Reed, Founder of Faith & Freedom Coalition is one creepy ass dude.
His opinions are gross too. In the same interview he praises the abortion issue being returned to the states and doesn’t want the Federal government involved but supports trump issuing a Federal ban. Head spinning.
Someone could probably throw Trump for a loop if they mention that Some People Are Saying ™ that tonight is a perjury trap.
And pardon me if this has been covered, but is this only airing on CNN?
I had just assumed that it would be hosted by CNN, but aired by the big networks, too.
I know for sure it’s being aired on MSNBC, PBS, C-Span and live-streamed. Looks like you can also catch it on any of ABC, CBS or NBC local affiliates.
CNN has said it will be live-streamed on CNN dot com with no cable login required, as they often do for major events.
I think I’m going to take a sip of something every time Biden manages to work in the words, “convicted felon,” when referring to his opponent.
It’s a drinking game I can get behind!

I think PBS will do it for me. I was looking for over-the-air-rabbit-ears friendly.
Also, he doesn’t think he needs to prepare or study because he’s certain he can beat Biden with his eyes closed. (He also thought he could beat the New York State election-interference records fraud case with his eyes closed, which didn’t work out too well for him, but he’s not one to quit so easily.)
It will be CNN for me.
Someone upthread mentioned the Super Bowl pre-game show, and that’s pretty much what CNN has been doing for the last few hours.
Up the game and drink every time Trump says “rigged”.
