I’m trying to find where to get some more of these shirts. The one I have, I ganked from my dad but I want some more as they are going to become my standard dress for work.
I need bigger than normal sizes but I haven’t found a big and tall vendor online who carries black dress shirts.
Here’s one –> Dress Shirts –> Fashion Colored Dress Shirts. They have “mostly cotton” ones (maybe the balance is poly?), if that’s the fabric you’re looking for? $40 might be a little steep though.
Those are the right style shirts, the main problem is fitting me. My neck is, I believe, 21" around, and I forget the rest of my measurements. After the next paycheck I’ll take Krokodil’s suggestion and hit a real gasp store. I just default to shopping online these days.
I’ve found that Men’s Wearhouse is indeed a good choice, if somewhat expensive. The problem I’ve had in the past, however, is that I had to have all my dress shirts altered, as the very large neck size did not really match with the rest of my measurements. On the plus side, you can have the alterations done at the store if you don’t know a tailor. On the minus side, that’s another $10 or so for the alterations.
If you do start shopping routinely there, I suggest getting their frequent buyer card. A $50 gift certificate for every $500 spent isn’t a bad deal.
Well I went to Men’s Wearhouse and they didn’t have any shirts for me, though I did get my measurements: 20" and 39". I admit I never tire of the reactions I get from salespeople when they take my measurements.
I’ve never heard of K&G so I’m guessing the answer is no.
gigi, I’m looking for a black button down dress shirt. It’s what I’ve decided is my dress code at work and I only have the one shirt. I’ve found one candidate on Amazon, it’s a tuxedo shirt but it’s the right sort of idea. Linky
I tend to wear the shirt with jeans, untucked and with sleeves rolled up, collar undone. But if the sleeves actually fit (a novelty in my life) then I might keep them down and buttoned.
