I would also point out that Leonard,as a research physicist, would likely be working using a research grant and have at least one or two people working for him in reality.
When the first episode airs in syndication, the sperm bank scene is cut completely. But it did air when CBS first showed the episode and IIRC it’s also on the DVD.
It is not cut in Canada.
I came away with the feeling that the writer’s are moving toward a conciliation of some kind between Sheldon and Kripke. Also, this is CalTech, both physicists and engineers doing what Howard is said to have done make a lot more money than the show suggests, and much more than a new PhD like Bernadette.
Good for Canada.
It appears that there were two pilots and, compounding the confusion, they both involved the sperm bank. The first pilot had Amanda Walsh playing the female lead. By the time they got around to making the second pilot they had replaced Walsh with Kaley Cuoco.
Don’t you mean “widicuwous wevels”?
I actually find Kripke’s speech impediment very distracting. Does anybody know how realistic it is? I’ve known people with speech issues, and I’ve never heard anybody in real life turning R’s and L’s into W’s so severely. Gilda Radner’s “Baba Wawa” was a comic exaggeration of a real-life impediment, and Kripke goes well beyond even that. It just seems cartoony.
Anyone know if there’s a way to see the unaired pilot (online, I’m guessing)?
