Kathy has had major work done. She looks like the love child of Amy from Season 3 and Anna Nicole Smith.
Oh, and can I just note my distaste for the “mole” type thing they’re doing this season? Geez…cut the gimmicks and just do Big Brother already!
Totally agree. I never really cared for the “America’s Choice” (or whatever it was called) gimmick, and now they’ve made it worse.
Not psyched but glad to have something to watch. Haven’t checked out the CBS page(s) yet, and may not before seeing them first on the show. My wife and I usually pick somebody by the end of the first show and whoever has the longest lasting person gets $5 from the other. Heavy gamblers we.
Every season has me pissed off before the first week is up and there was one not long ago I just quit watching. But I will give it a good try.
It’s been our “Summer watch” for the last decade.
I missed the first two seasons and that one a year or two back, but otherwise I have been a regular. My wife has seen them all. Over and above the shows themselves, the threads that usually get going here are at least as much fun. Same with 24 while it was running.
I’d say my tastes in the players and who should be jettisoned next are pretty much mainstream here. I don’t remember liking a real longshot or hating a real winner yet. And in the bets my wife and I have had I’m well ahead!
My favorite season was the one with Kaysar and that crowd. Least favorite was with Jun and those folks.
I guess the housemates are already in the house (and/or sequestered) since they have announced this year twist. (sabotage, at least one of the twists).
I am sure there are going to be some truly vile people that you would not want to be around in real life. Dick Donato, anyone? How about Chima?
Yes, they usually have them in the house for a week before the season premieres, so they’ll have footage to edit into the opener.
Oh, wow! Don’t get me started! It would be so much easier to list the ones who wouldn’t run me out of the room. I believe I have gone as far as listing every BB player for the purpose of ranking them for my own satisfaction. If I could just remember where I put that list!
Found it! I believe I got this from IMDb and CBS and maybe some other place so it may not be 100% accurate, but it’s all I have on the subject Anybody want to start some Top Ten categories from this set?

I’m afraid I don’t recall all the characters from all the seasons. I tried to think of a Top 10 favorite house guest list, but only came up with (in no order):
Dr. Will
Mike Boogie
Janelle
Evil Dick
Dan G
Jordan
Marcellas
Chicken George
I’m sure I’m forgetting some.
I started a thread Jump the gun on “Big Brother All Stars” on 06-21-2006, 09:39 AM and tried to drum up some fun before that All-Star season began.
In that thread I had links to the CBS pages with photos of all but Season One’s people. Here’s an update of those pages:
Their Big Brother page(s) format has changed and I’m not sure where to get the last three seasons’ pictures. Maybe someone else can provide those links along with whatever is available on Seasoin One.
Another good source is Big Brother (American TV series) - Wikipedia where I found this summary data:

I find my memory is much better for faces than it is for names, but even then I’m not sure I could really produce a Top Ten and Bottom Ten of my BB favorites and least liked players.
BUMP
Thought I would bump the thread since the latest season of BB premieres tonight.
Who is the saboteur? I suspect it is a male since there are 7 guys and 6 girls. I’ll go with Ragan, without reading any of the biography.
It would be kind of funny if the saboteur gets evicted first.
I’d laugh like a loon. I’d probably do myself an injury from it. The kind of things it would do to make Allison Grodner’s summer a big old pain in the butt would give me a warm, soft fuzzy right in the deepest cockles of my heart.
I’m going out of town unexpectedly, and will have to TiVo tonight’s episode and watch it Saturday night. I’ll be back here after that.
Me too. In my way of looking at it, every new wrinkle has met with a weakened experience for the viewer. At least this viewer. I can appreciate the need for some way of making the current season different from previous ones, if for no other reason than to take the players out of the games earlier guests had used.
But the “America’s Player” concept surely didn’t help the entertainment value of the show.
Let’s hope some guest does all the busy work of “being different” in an entertaining way just to show the producers that it’s better to trust the guests than themselves.
Considering that there’s at least one houseguest who’s a fairly serious religious Jew who intends to celebrate Shabbat in the BB house every week (unlike just about every one of the previous houseguests, whose overt religious affiliations were a) superficial, b) fueled by alliance rivalries and the fact that the only literature allowed in the BB house are the rulebook and the Bible, and c) mostly self-serving*), you may get your wish.
*Seriously. Listening to what passes for “religious debate” on the live feeds is a lesson in simultaneous comedy and facepalming.
I think Kaysar, who is Muslim, prayed five times a day. And I assume he would have been allowed to bring a copy of the Koran in.
What I’d love to see this season is somebody like Nakomis who managed to find a weakness (if not a flaw) in the procedures to allow for the “backdoor” approach. Somebody who can – on their own – disrupt the flow of things by staying within the letter of the rules but finding how to turn the rules on their head.
Who other than Nakomis has done such a thing successfully? I submit that Chima’s way of skirting the rules was not effective.
I wonder if the producers have a plan to insure that the “mole” stays in the house for a while? I don’t see how they could jury-rig the voting without the house guests getting wise.
:smack:
I forgot about Kaysar! It’s still a rarity, though.
