Well OK, that makes more sense then. Because what was show on TV was Ragan asking Matt if he wanted to make a deal, Matt saying he could stay up there for hours, and then the houseguests came back out. It looked like just a couple minutes. Not knowing that it was planned beforehand made Matt’s nominations seem completely out of the blue.
It’s unfortunate, but you only see about 1/2 the show if you’re only watching the network edit. Even just reading live feed discussions fleshes so many things out (and lets you in on just how much the editing manipulates viewers and sometimes how much production manipulates houseguests).
Of course, the major downside is that you’re ALWAYS spoilered.
Finally caught up with the last 2 eps. The problem with any 4-person alliance like the Brigade is that eventually someone has to go. Anyone in a 4-way should be thinking of an early exit strategy and it seems like that’s what Matt is doing, but it may be too early…
So I still don’t know what Matt’s original plan was, but it clearly backfired on him. I’m liking him less and less every episode, with all his idiotic facial expressions and hand waving. Enzo, however, I’m liking more than I did earlier.
His original plan was to not put up Brendan and Rachel so that he could point to his actions as HoH as evidence that he wouldn’t put them up. He then had to scramble to convince the Brigade that he wanted to backdoor Brendan, which he did not actually want to do. It was a stupid plan, but it technically did not backfire.
Britney is gravitating toward Rachel, and by extension Brendan. This is unfortunate for both her and the Brigade, but it was inevitable. Both Enzo and Lane have kept her close to them, but since she is unaware of their alliance and they never talk game to her, she feels completely alone. So it’s only natural for her to be drawn in by Rachel, who talks game with anyone who’ll listen. (The idiot.) Rachel went full-on Mean Girl with Britney last night ragging on Kristen for anything and everything. They both want Kristin out because they think she has too much influence with the boys.
I gauge from the totally boring show last night that the producers couldn’t find 49 minutes of entertaining footage to show us. The most boring slice of TV I have sat through in a long time. I would have fast-forwarded to the Veto ceremony after the first minute, but I was voted down.
Britney provided the only smile of the night for me.
I really don’t care any longer. It’s not a good season for BB.
Matt is a dweeb. Enzo is entertaining but on camera only a small fraction of the time the love birds are there swabbing each other’s tonsils. What a downer.
Well another pawn bites the dust. And did Rachel just accuse Andrew of being gay?
I did think it was pretty cool how he basically gave the whole house one big FU in his speech.
So “genius” Matt, judging by his comment about having people in the Jury House who believe his lie about his sick wife, doesn’t even realize that the people evicted so far aren’t going to be on the jury.
Ah, another week of sticky sweet insufferability…
Andrew slit his own throat. The votes were there for Kathy until he started acting like a madman.
Finally got a little live drama tonight! Between Andrew’s speech and the back & forth between Rachel and Kristen after the HOH it was at least a bit interesting!
My thoughts exactly. I was going to say that at least they followed up the ultra-boring Wednesday show with an interesting Thursday one, but you beat me to the punch. On a side note, I greatly preferred last season’s Sunday-Tuesday-Thursday schedule to this year’s Sunday-Wednesday-Thursday.
My rooting interests have now crystallized to “anyone but Brendan and Rachel.” I’m happy Britney managed to wriggle her way into Rachel’s good graces, keeping the eye candy safe for this week. I don’t care about Kristen one way or another, so I’m fine with her going home. I worry a little about Hayden going on the block next to her, especially if she wins Veto, but even then there’s still a slight chance Rachel would put Kathy up as a replacement pawn to get rid of Hayden. In that scenario, Hayden would stay with 3 Brigade votes plus Kristen. I have grown to genuinely like the Brigade, so I hope they stick around. To that end, voting Kristen out this week would be ideal.
One thing that’s been cracking me up for the past week is comparing Jeff & Jordan to Brendan & Rachel. When J&J won HoH – figure week 7 in real-time – they were laying in the HoH bed one night joking around. Jeff jokingly said “I looooove you” and they both cracked up, saying “how pathetic would we be if we actually said that? We barely know each other. Can you imagine people doing that?” heh, I personally no longer have to imagine it, and it is every bit as pathetic as J&J thought it would be. B&R are the polar opposite of everything I loved about J&J, who were the only reason I started watching the show in the first place.
I miss the Saturday - Tuesday - Thursday schedule of the old days.
Ugh. I *hate *Rachel. Every single time someone has been evicted she gives the same message. “You’re not gonna get between me and my man!” Jesus FUCKING Christ! STFU you moronic bimbo! Every time she laughs it makes me hope someone punches her in the face. Now we’re stuck having to listen to her laugh for another 2 weeks at least.
I thought the exact same thing during the eviction messages. You have to give her credit though, she’s a competitor. 2 HOH wins already.
Me, too, I actually yelled out “Three weeks in a row!” For some reason, her usage of the phrase “my maaan” grates on me.
I can’t stand Rachel, especially her laugh. then again, I really do not like any of those people
I can’t resist an underdog and I was glad she won HOH. I want to see the Brigade squirming.
I don’t think I want Brendan or Rachel to win, but I’m actually enjoying watching the way they continue to hang on when almost everyone else claims they want them out. They really are playing the game well, except for the part where they keep repainting the targets on themselves.
The Brigade is playing a great game, but I just don’t like large cabals. I keep hoping they’ll lose a member or two so that I can get over that prejudice and decide if I want the remaining members to do well. Plus, Enzo and Matt both think they’re masterminds, and that’s almost always a recipe for defeat in this game.
In general, though, I can’t find anyone to really root for in this bunch.
Kudos to the production staff for fast work. Only a few seconds after the end of Andrew’s rant, the writers had written something for the Chenbot to say about it as Kristen entered the Diary Room.
That’s the way things always work in this game. A few seasons back everyone said they wanted Evil Dick and Danielle gone, but every time the HGs had a chance to either put them on the block or vote them out, these two always managed to somehow make it another week until they ended up winning the thing. Yeah, America’s Player was partially responsible for this, but the HGs never united the way they should have either. Most of them also played a really shitty game, which didn’t help matters.
Well, finally someone is showing some balls in this house. All too often the players in this game behave like the Democrats in Congress. They’ll talk a good game and make threats about they how they want so and so out of the house, but they’ll almost always back down, fearful that they don’t have the votes to pull off their desired machinations.
