For that reason alone, I hope Frank pulls it off. He’s fought harder than anyone to be there.
Having peeked at Hamstertime…
I don’t see either of the people with the veto using it. I think Dan is in some deep poo here

And you would be wrong
Jenn won the POV and took Dan off the block. Ian did not use his. Apparently Frank saw through Britney and Ian as a pair and put her on the block to replace Dan. Britney is Franks revenge on Ian and he wants Britney gone. I think Joe and Jenn are going to float this boat right to the final four.
That’s not entirely how it went down.
Dan is the one that made this move. He ratted out Ian to Frank and then pulled Frank into a final two with Dan with two meat-shields in Jenn (out of necessity for her veto) and Danielle.
Dan talked Frank into this, who in turn brought Jenn in, and then Dan got Danielle on board to solidify their new final four. The only way Dan could make this work was to throw Britney under the bus. Don’t miss Wednesday’s show to catch all the fireworks of Dan putting this plan in motion. It certainly doesn’t lack for tears and drama.
The house is now Dan, Frank, Danielle and Jenn vs Shane, Ian and Joe, with Britney going home this weel. Dan and Frank both want Joe in the final 3 with them, so more throat cutting is on the way.
Frank did a good job bringing Jenn into the plan, but make no mistake that any of this is his doing. Dan is leading Frank around as much as Boogie ever did.
Just wanted to say this outside a spoiler box, there’s enough good drama that Wednesday’s broadcast should be appointment tv.
Hamstertime has annointed Dan the best player ever, now surpassing Dr. Will.
And this is why the powers that be worked so hard to keep Frank in the game. It makes for good TV. When all the “bad guys” get sent out the door halfway through the season, it gets dull. As much as I hate that blinking, overgrown Orphan Annie, it would have gotten boring without him.
Considering the Ellis Dee’s spoilers
Why is it a sure thing that Britney goes home? Ian, Joe, Shane have the votes to evict Dani, don’t they? There is only Jenn and Dan that can vote on Frank’s side.
Because
Shane is unaware that it’s Dan, Frank, Danielle and Jenn vs Shane, Ian and Joe. In fact, nobody outside Dan’s new alliance is aware of this because Dan publicly burned his bridge with Danielle to the ground. (Tune in tonight to see it!)
Right now in the house, Dan’s new four knows it’s them against the other three.
Ian is under the naive assumption that he can get the quack pack back together.
Shane thinks he and Danielle are alone against the rest of the house, but at least Frank and Dan are bigger targets.
Joe hates Ian with fervent intensity, and sees nothing beyond getting Ian out.
The thing to remember is that Ian is now a marked man, and he would be sitting next to Danielle but for his veto. As his closest ally Britney will walk out the door. It’s similar to season 11 when the jocks all hated Jeff but couldn’t vote him out because of the cliques twist so they voted out all his friends 1, 2 and 3.
This is the brilliance of Dan. He has reshuffled the house completely, formed a new final four, and the rest of the house not only is unaware of this but they are going after each other.
Last night Shane and Britney had a private conversation, and the question of would Danielle ever go back to Dan came up. Both almost couldn’t even imagine it. That’s how good Dan is, and that’s why Shane’s sending Britney home, because Shane is closer to Danielle. If Shane, Britney, and Ian had the first clue what Dan really did they could easily pull in Joe, send Danielle home, and flip the script on Dan in a heartbeat. But Dan is on a whole 'nother level, with vastly superior game skills than mere mortals possess.
Ian broke the news to Britney tonight that she’s going home. Ellis is a sad panda, as Britney’s my favorite hammie to watch.
Wow. Brilliant.
Definitely. I think Dan overtakes Dr. Will as of tonight. That was some premium-grade mind-control right there.
I’m certain that was the best Big Brother episode ever. Just wow.
For anyone who avoids spoilers religiously, all spoilers from post 103 on are discussing what we just saw tonight so you can read them without fear of spoilage. They explain some of the details of how exactly this worked.
It’s unfortunate that this was the “how bad do you want it” veto because they had to fly through everything. The Britney / Danielle chaining was quite funny but only got like 30 seconds.
More unfortunate is that the full scope of Dan’s Machiavellian plan couldn’t be shown. The crux of it was Danielle. He had to convince the entire house that he was no longer working with her. In particular he had to convince Frank that Frank was now Dan’s #1, and not Danielle, to give credibility to the Dan / Frank final 2 deal.
Even better, he had to come up with a way to get Frank alone for a decent amount of time (their private talk in the HoH was around 45 minutes long) to put this plan into action. There was no way in hell he was going to be able to get that alone time, as Britney (and Shane, based on Britney’s instructions) would never have let Dan and Frank conspire alone for a minute, much less 45. So Dan detonated the Danielle bomb into the house, and basically the rest of the house spent the next hour (or two!) consoling Danielle, who was totally devastated.
Danielle was so destroyed that she broke out in a pretty severe case of hives all over her neck and face.
It was a masterful play by Dan. I have long been on the Britney / Shane train, so it’s annoying on a personal level to see them so surgically removed from the game, but damn if I don’t have to tip my hat to Dan, Boogie-style.
Agreed. There were some great “fight” episodes in past season, but for sheer game play, I don;t recall anything better.
That was amazing! Absolutely brilliant on Dan’s part. It takes a really good player to be able to convince your biggest enemy to save you and your ally when one of you is most definitely on the way out the door. And what a great move for Dan. When you look around the house right now, the strongest player is Frank. He does well in the physical competitions and he’s no idiot, either.
Britney and Shane just annoyed the hell out of me last night. Britney whining about how Dan was supposed to throw the competition to her and Shane…basically that would have meant throwing it to Frank, because Britney and Shane sat there and did absolutely nothing. (You’re not good at spelling, Shane? Really?) They had their chance to save themselves and they blew it.
Couldn’t agree more. Dan should sit back and let them win when Frank was running away with it?
Great episode and I agree with everything you all said.
The other minor miracle was the Jenn went to Frank before the veto and offered him 100% support and then proved it. If she hadn’t gotten to Frank earlier, I don’t think Dan’s plan works.
Dick move to do that to Danielle, but it worked and it’s for her betterment in the course of the game. Brilliant line: “No. Because then you wouldn’t have cried.”
I’ll miss Britney, but I was happier to see such great playing and to see Jenn finally start playing the game.
Yeah, I didn’t quite get that criticism from Britney. Even if Dan had wanted to go along with her plan, you figure it would have made sense for him to jump in and do his own thing, anyway, after he saw Britney and Shane floundering.
Do Britney and Ian not realize that 3 votes to keep Britney is better than 2 votes to keep Dani?
All Britney, Ian and Shane have to do is convince Joe to evict Dani. OK, Dani is getting sympathy. Boo Hoo, it is a game, get over it already.
Frank cannot play the next two HoH competitions. IMO Team B-I-S have better options for Joe than Team F-D-D-J.
Tonights HoH is probably an endurance competition and Team BIS have to be favored over FDDJ w/o Frank.
It kills any suspense when, from the very first shot of the living room and the two contestants sitting in the nominee chairs, you can tell who is going to be voted out by the way the two are dressed. In particular, it makes the “last chance to plead your case” bit look even more like a charade than most everything else on the show.
That’s the first time I can remember an endurance competition where a house guest didn’t even make it through the commercial.
As explained above, the genius of Dan’s plan is that Britney, Ian, Shane and Joe are unaware of the fact that it’s them against Dan, Frank, Danielle, and Jenn. They think they have Danielle, and that Danielle and Dan are over. Notice on tonight’s broadcast how Shane was saying to Danielle “Now you have to deal with Dan in the house for another week.” They don’t have the first clue.
Ian had a good comment on last night’s BBAD about how Frank is bad at the game, and I think he’s right: “If you were any good at all, you wouldn’t have to keep winning comps to stay alive.” Take Dan for example. He doesn’t win shit, but keeps himself alive. Boogie said as much earlier in the season when he said his game doesn’t depend on winning comps.
Now, if you combine comp winning with a great social game, now we’re talking unstoppable force. Hayden was the best example of that I’ve seen.
Which reminds me, I loved the Brigade segment on tonight’s show. That was all kinds of awesome, since I think that alliance was great on many levels. (Strategy, loyalty, comp performance, social.) It also reminded me that season 12 is the only season I’ve ever seen with all new players. (11 had Jesse, 13 had the vets, 14 had the coaches.)
Dan even had me fooled. In the four seasons I’ve been watching I don’t remember a time when I didn’t know who was really working with whom. Until tonight. Dan swore on the bible, his wedding ring, his wife, and everything that he holds dear he was working with Frank. That convinced me. To turn his back on that the first chance he gets? Impressive.
