Big Brother 2012

In the first weeks of the season when Britney was gung-ho to get Dan out, she said talking to Dan left you in a mist. All of a sudden you’d find yourself agreeing with him even when it was a bad move for you. She got a lot of mileage out of the mist metaphor, and it caught on at hamstertime. Their header image is a funny tribute to Dan’s mist, check it out here.

The funniest comment I’ve seen over there so far tonight has got to be: “Dan’s mist, now with 80% more evil!”

There are two players out of all the many houseguests since this show began whom I consider Olympic-level: Dan and Dr. Will. And I really think Dan took the lead over Dr. Will tonight. That’s some Sith-Lord-level mind trickery the man has…

And why did I just KNOW Frank was going to one of the pearl-clutchers about “integrity” in this game. Hey, Frankie…someone who absolutely got off on being part of “Chilltown 2” has no base from which to launch a moral broadside against another player.

Danielle’s face was absolutely priceless when Dan cast his vote.

The best closed captioning for any show ever had to be from last night.

Ian: _________ !

Lordy did I laugh at that.

Ian had to have thought he was going home, but then Dan pulled out the “Sith lord” mind tricks and sure enough, safe.

Loved the jury house scenes. Frank’s being a dick.

I have no idea if Dan can win this if he gets to the final two. The bridges he’s burned, he’s burned them pretty badly. No way he gets Shane or Frank’s vote. He might get Jenn’s but I doubt it. He’s got Britney’s vote. Who knows how Joe and DreamBoardGirl will vote.

Danielle really wouldn’t deserve to win against either Ian or Dan, but for once, I’ll be fine with any of these three winning. (Actually I was fine with the Brigade season too).

I hate it when players do that. It’s too bad Boogie didn’t give Frank some lessons in not taking the game personally.

I doubt Dan will be able to pull off another win here, but then again, a few seasons back, I thought for sure Evil Dick had burned too many bridges and there was no way the HGs were going to award him the grand prize on account of him being such an asshole. I, of course, turned out to be wrong about that.

However, the one thing Dick had going for him that season was that America’s Player had his back. And to Dick’s credit (and believe me, I hate saying anything in defense of the guy), he wasn’t dishonest in his gameplay. In fact he was always pretty forthright about where he stood. He just happened to be a major, well, dick.

Sorry. But I don’t think Frank will win.

My reasoning is pretty basic.

He was evicted a few weeks ago and once you are evicted on this show, it is very unlikely that you will come back and win.

It has been done in the past, mind you, but I just don’t think that Frank has the chops to make it happen now.

P.S. This post was just a joke … just in case you thought it was real.

I think Danielle’s look was pre-planned and rehearsed.

My reasoning?

No one could be that stupid to not expect Dan would do that after he had lied to her all season long. How big a surprise could it be that he would lie to her this time.

I would love to see Dan win the final HoH and then evict Danielle.

The look on her face at that time would be for real and it would be wonderful.

She deserves to have someone reach into her mouth and grab her insides and pull them inside out. That would result in a very strange look on her face.

I would take a picture and have it framed and put it on my wall.

She would richly deserve it too.

I agree 100%. I think it was rigged. There was no way Dan could have “misted” them both into it. And Shane did the bit about shaking Dan’s hand and looking him in the eye in his speech and then again in the interview. That felt scripted.

And Danielle’s jaw drop didn’t impress me; she should have fainted if she didn’t know it was coming.

Ian was the only one in the house who didn’t know what was going to happen.

I think the producers got caught up in the Dan hype and got a little too cute. They probably made a side deal with Shane.

The whole thing was way too perfect and very fishy.

Just a reminder, tonight is the finale, thank god.

And some spoilers on the HOH.

Dan won Part I and Ian Part II of the HOH competition

I think you mean Dani won Part I, because the live feed discussions were all about whether or not Dan would throw it to Ian.

Based on Shane’s exit interview with Jeff, I highly doubt any of it was scripted.

There was a questionable moment during the finale. Dan, speaking to the jury said something about having blood up to his elbows. Immediately after that, Joe, reading from his prepared question card read, “Dan you just said you have blood up to your elbows…” This certainly smacked up scripting to me.

I retract my post about who won the first round…apparently the live feed people got it all wrong.

YESSSSSSSSSS!! GO IAN!!!

Though I would have been fine with either of those two winning.

SPOILERS BELOW! LOOK AWAY!!!

There is a great irony to this season that will probably be lost on Ian. Earlier this week he was recounting (with frightening recollection) all 20 seasons of Survivor. Dan hadn’t seen Russel Hantz’s first season, so Ian described it for him. At the end of the recount, Ian made a face as he said Natalie won. Dan, his curiosity piqued, pressed for Ian’s opinion. A travesty! An embarassment! The worst ending ever, because Russell clearly deserved the win because of how well he played.

Dan played Russell’s game this season, essentially, and lost for pretty much the same reason. Ian is a slightly more capable Natalie.

The thing that cracks me up is that Ian actually thinks he created the quack pack, and that he played by his own choices. The final four of Dan, Danielle, Britney and Shane was already well established when they decided to bring Ian in, and they kept feeding his ego by playing along that he’d created it to ensure his loyalty.

While not a complete pawn the entire game, Ian was pretty close. Not useless, but not deserving of the win over Dan Dan the Magic Mist Man. Janelle had that right.

It wasn’t the first time Dan said that line. It’s what he sent out Shane with, and I think the jury gets to see the eviction ceremonies.

Which live feed people? It was pretty clear who won each round, and just watching BBAD I knew who won. Fortunately, that staged fight between Danielle and Ian started at 12:03 ET, just after BBAD started.

Perhaps you misunderstood? There was real thought that Dan might indeed throw the final competition to Ian because he didn’t think he could beat Danielle. Truthfully, I think he did throw the final competition. Some of his misses were obvious gimmes. If so, that was his only mistake, since he would have crushed Danielle I think.

TWOP. And I may have misread…I just read it quickly before the final episode started.

Honestly, Danielle telling Ian she was going to badmouth him to the entire jury, was nothing more than an empty threat. There was maybe 20, 30 minutes between when she joined the jury and when they cast their votes, and much of that time was taken up by questions from Julie, questions from the jury members to the final two and the final two making their closing arguments. Other than commercial breaks, Danielle would really have had no time to privately confer with anyone on the jury.

Great season, I thought. Dan deserved it more than Ian, but I’m not terribly upset Ian won. I was surprised Jenn City and Britney both voted for Ian. I thought it would have been a 4-3 vote.
