…really really beautiful and weird and sad and a butterfly kiss of scary. I liked it.
I liked Big Fish, too.
Well-acted, beautiful cinematography, other-worldly as only Tim Burton can do it, but warm, and full of love.
I was surprised that I liked it so much, and given its overt sentimentality I was surprised it moved me so much. I can’t remember the last time I cried at a movie before this. I’m a big-time sucker for goodbye scenes. But I agree with the above reviews: well-acted, quite beautiful, weird, and very well-imagined, which I guess is Tim Burton’s thing. Ewan McGregor was his typical, extremely winning self.
I loved it. It’s one of my top 5 of the year. What Caprese said. I especially loved how the movie had me totally fooled at a few spots (in terms of what is going to happen). I shed a tear at the end.
Ewen McGregor and Albert Finney were especially good.
