End of year movie recommendations

There is always such an onslaught of movies released around this time and I never am able to see as many as I’d like to see. What movies can you recommend, or do you have to see while still at the theatres?

Undead (if you’re a yank, coming to cinemas January, I believe)
City of God

I don’t know if I can “recommend” these since I haven’t seen them yet myself, but they are either out now or coming soon and will definitely not miss:

Big Fish, the new Tim Burton movie. Burton is one of my favorite directors and I’m really looking forward to this.

Peter Pan looks pretty cool!

And, of course, The Return of the King.

I’ve been hearing good things about Bad Santa, too.

I saw it today in NYC.

If you like Tim Burton movies (especially PeeWee’s Big Adventure and Edward Scissorhands), Big Fish is a must-see and absolutely recommended. Visually dazzling, quirky Americana storytelling. Excellent Cinematography (Same guy as A River Runs Through It which I didn’t know when I saw it. The opening shot reminded me of that movie)

I have a quibble with the father-son relationship - perhaps it’s just Billy Crudup’s portrayal. While Albert Finney and Ewan McGregor are great, the women - Jessica Lange, Allison Lohman, Helena Bonham Carter and Marion Cotillard are absolutely superb.
