Bigfoot is dead

I was just watching some History Channel show in which a primate scientist claimed that the Northwest’s corrolary to the Yeti couldn’t be a hoax because the famous home video showed authentic apelike movements and a 9’ tall animal.

In fact, Bigfoot died last week. This is a more-detailed account of the story, which the Associated Press also reported.

Like the crop circles and the Loch Ness monster, when some people latch onto something, no amount of proof to the contrary will sway them. Despite the fact that the man who started the whole Bigfoot legend swore it to be fake, there are those who would beleive he was put up to telling that story to throw us off the “real” story.

I’ll play the cynic here. What evidence is there that Wallace’s claims were true? Where’s the ape suit he says he wore? IOW, why should I believe him or his family any more than I should believe someone who swears up & down that they really saw Bigfoot?

(Please note that I’m not saying that I believe in Bigfoot. The first person who tries to flame me for believing in bigfoot will have his/her e-mail address submitted to mailing lists for bestialitry and kiddie porn :p)

If this is true, then this has to rank among the Top Ten best Practical Jokes ever! Great stuff.
