Biggest NFL Draft Bust of 2014 Predictions

Speaking of QBs, whoever selects San Jose State’s David Fales is going to be pretty happy. I really don’t know about the big names, I’ve been concentrating on other positions.

I believe Geno Smith spent some time as number 1 in some early mock drafts.

I find the Bridgewater as running QB comment funny… he is a passer first. Anyway, here are my predictions

Busts:
Sammy Watkins - Overrated. Will be picked ahead of Mike Evans and have half the career.

Tyler Lewan - Richie Incognito 2.0
Steals:
HaShean (Ha Ha) Clinton Dix - one of the better safeties in recent memory. Can support run and has speed to cover.

RaShede Hageman - Dude may fall to top of round 2 but he will be a beast. Not a true speed DE like Clowney but may just have a similar career at half the price.

BTW, not a fan of Clowney and I while I hope he joins Russell, Mandarich and Leaf
as the worst busts of all time, I just do not see it. Guy has the tools, laziness is the only thing that MAY keep him from being a stud.

I agree, and disagree. I do think he’s overrated (he shouldn’t be a top 7 pick), but I think he’ll have a very nice career, better than Evans. Watkins is a very good wide receiver who has great acceleration, great hands, runs good routes and uses the whole field. I don’t think he’ll be as big a playmaker as say a Percy Harvin, but he can certainly fill the WR #1 role on an NFL team. I just don’t think he’s physically special enough, or that much better than other WR’s in the draft, to justify taking him so early in the first round. But I think he’s got a very nice floor, so while he may not be a stud, I really doubt he’ll be a bust either.

I actually think Clowney is going to be a stud. I think Manziel will be like first few seasons Brett Favre, wild, partying, but getting by on some tremendous skill. Of course there are major differences, Favre is physically a lot bigger and more importantly Favre had some excellent coaching along the way. If Manziel can get some really good psychological type coaching he could be pretty good, IMO.

What exactly is the psychological concern with Manziel?

He’s a loose cannon! He follows his own rules!

My concerns are that he may be an egotistical meathead who thinks that rules don’t apply to him. I also am unconvinced that he can actually run an NFL offense that requires reading defense and timing routes.

He’s been arrested for lying to police, showed up hungover at Peyton Manning’s QB camp and was sent home, parties too much, breaks NCAA rules, signs autographs for money (but not for money!), talks trash, and acts like a douche on the playing field.

He strikes me as an extraordinarily physically gifted meathead who fits almost every stereotype of a jock.

I heard the captain told him turn in his badge and gun and give up on the Marchese case for good.

What do you expect? He’s got the mayor all over his ass on this.

And his partner is just a week days away from retirement.

Because he was “getting too old for this stuff”.

Dude is going to get millions and go all “Ryan Leaf”… watch the train wreck.

I don’t know about that. I read that Manziel comes from family money (Texas oil money) so getting more isn’t going to affect him, IMHO.
