I can’t believe that someone has not yet posted this, as it happened yesterday: Stephen Hillenburg, creator of Spongebob Squarepants, has died of ALS at age 57.
Sorry, it’s not Opposite Day. RIP, you’ve given us a lot of laughs.
Hillenburg also worked on Rocko’s Modern World before SpongeBob and that was a great show and got even better when I realized how sneakily dirty it actually was.

That’s sad, it seems he went downhill pretty fast after his diagnosis right? My kids and I both loved his cartoons.
I was sad when I heard the news yesterday. I remember when the first episode of Sponge Bob aired, and it’s still a regular show on the tv at my house. RIP
So sad.

He announced his illness in March 2017, so about a year and a half ago.
