Bill Cosby isn't funny

I never thought the guy was funny from the very beginning of his career. He has worked for some worthwhile charities though so I give him props there.

Dude! Chocolate Cake For Breakfast is one of the best family-oriented standup routines ever!

Now get your hand out of your pants!

I’ll give you a red S. And a black eye, too if you don’t come out of that phone booth!

How long can you tread water? Ha ha haaaaaaaaaaa!

My all time favorite was side two of 200 MPH. (Sorry for no link, but I’m sure it’s out there)

Oh, and the Noah jokes. Man, I loved these.

Man, I love some of the older Bill Cosby. Grew up watchin’ Fat Albert and borrowed every comedy record of his from the library. Never was a big fan of the cosby show however… kinda know Bill more as a comic from the 70’s.

As a kid I can remember loving his albums. We listened to them at our friend’s house next door because their parents liked him and there was no way we were going to duplicate that kind of outlay as a kid. He cracked us right up.

I can remember exactly where he lost me: “Buck, buck” and the introduction of Fat Albert. Man, did I hate Fat Albert! I never listened to anything of his after that, just seeing him on TV occasionally mugging for the camera and reinforcing my earlier assessment.

I liked his description of playing pick-up football in his neighborhood as a kid, and the complex instructions given by the boy playing quarterback:

“Get on the crosstown bus - I’ll fake it to you.”

“Cosby, you go down to Third Street, catch the J bus. Have him open the doors at 19th street. I’ll fake it to you.”

I feel the need to clarify. Bill Cosby used to be hilarious. “So now I’m watching Froofie the Dog!” Since the 1980s, however, his funniness quotient has steadily plummeted. If he isn’t doing so already, he ought to rest on his laurels.

(Also, as noted above, props to the man for getting a real doctorate (Ed.D). I can respect that.)

He fell out the bed, and he’s not… right!

The bit about watching a horror movie from beneath his theatre seat, then getting a cardboard cutout of the Frankenstein monster to scare other kids. Genius.

I’ve always liked Bill Cosby; and even more now that I know he did a lot of material without having to to resort to swear words for humor.

Yes, he made a name and career for himself in the 60’s by not doing sexual or racial material, which were the common themes for many comedians. He significantly changed the comedic landscape back then by doing that.

I see him live several years ago at a big Veterinary conference (pet food and drug companies often pay for big name entertainment at these things). Anyway, he was hilarious, be stuck to bits about pets and animals because of his audience.

I admit the guy has done some stuff I don’t like but he has indeed done a lot of funny stuff, too.

“Faster faster, you fool you fool!”

My friends and I still use that one occasionally.

It seems the majority opinion in this thread is that Bill Cosby is funny.

Bill Cosby is a very funny fellow…right!

Would you believe, 3:30?

Now, Gallagher?

He ain’t funny anymore.
