Is anybody else as annoyed about his TV commercials? Let’s see- he is the voice of Jiffy Lube, AM PM Minimart, Sizzler, & Gateway computers, now. He is a white guy, has a band, (was on Dees’TV show, then fired,) & tries to sound black & cool. It’s like Don La Fotaine who does all the movie previews, Vera is now spawning imitators.
What did you think he would do at this moment
When faced with the knowledge that you just don’t love him?

Or say things to curse you?
You just don’t know him at all.
Or say things to HURT you…

Now how can CC say that I don’t know Billy? Actually I DO know him. Maybe that’s why his voice irritates me so much. Also the few thousand bucks an hour he makes. Talk about easy money.

Besides, he’s got a dead-on sexy voice. Women like it.
Well, I knew he was successful at selling things-I always hear his voice. As they say, tho’, a face made for radio-or voice overs.
The black-sounding manner of speech has been part of his act for years and years. He used to do an excellent weekly radio show of early rock’n’roll and rhythm-and-blues that was on KCRW in the Los Angeles area.
An ardent fan of his show, I had the chance to meet him when I was volunteering at a KCRW pledge drive, and was disappointed to find him very standoffish and not much caring that I thought the show was so good.
Spectre-absolutely correct. KCRW in Santa Monica led him to all the voice over gigs. He is not too friendly. And w/all his bucks, it’s a long complicated story, he "snuck into " an R&B show that I & friends were putting on. I was very upset-the principal of the thing-just $25 bucks. I wanted to kick him out, but I was over ruled by my partners-“We don’t want to upset Billy.” Real name BTW, is William McCord, born in Mt. Vernon NY. Now you know why the voice is like fingernails on a blackboard.
