Birdwatching

I’m not really much of a bird watcher really, but this watching is taking place about 3 feet from my head, just on the other side of the window.

A fledgling cardinal managed to hop about 2 feet off the ground into a bush under my window, then seems to have called it good enough for a days work, because he started doing his whiny little chirps until mom and dad started bring him fat bugs to eat. It’s hard not to notice every time a bright red flash streaks into the corner of my vision to shove something else down his throat.
I am hoping they got something else for plan B for the night however, because a couple of the neighborhood cats patrol along those bushes a lot of nights.
