We’ve had a thread like this before, but I’m resurrecting the topic.
Have you ever been thisclose to saying something but thought better of it at the last second? Have you regretted not saying it? Or did you say it and wish you hadn’t?
This morning my carpool partner was going on and on about her latest venture to the local casino. She said she a group of black ladies sat down next to her and at first everyone was shy but they started talking and laughing and saved each others’ spots when they went to the restroom, etc., etc. She said that, after a couple hours, they “forgot she was white” and treated her like one of their own. I came justthisclose to saying, “Obviously you didn’t forget they were black.”
This woman has provided me with many missed opportunities, but I need a ride more than I need the gratification of a shot.
So does anyone have any experiences they want to share?

I’ve said LOTS of things I wish I hadn’t said (I average two a day), but one of my frat brothers takes the cake.
They were at a party (smokin, drinkin, what not) and they came out into the hall to see a group of girls sitting in a circle around a vibrator. I don’t know what they were doing before, but when they saw the guys they started bowing to it. Then the brother asked “Whose is it?”
Wrong thing to say.
I sold my soul to Satan for a dollar. I got it in the mail.
My son is having a tough semester, several of his friends told him point blank that they weren’t going to speak to him anymore (I thought only girls did that!)
Well, one of those former friends wrote me an e mail thanking me for having bought him a number of ‘cold remedies’ when I was dropping DJ off at school after Christmas.
Ohhhhhh man, did I want to write * him * a scathing reply, what he could do with his thanks. But, I kept repeating, DJ is nineteen, and you’re the mom, STAY OUT OF IT!!
So, I bit my lip, wrote out a nice, polite, hoped he was doing well in school and e mailed it back to him, mumbling under my breath the whole time!
