I heard a familiar sound from the living room as I was in my office tonight. The 'Femmes from the TV. I got up in time to see on CNN Headline News the Violent Femmes performing live in the studio, and a very attractive anchorwoman joining in on the drums during the session. It raised the hair on my neck, for some reason.
And when did they get old? I’m not old! How did they age so quickly when I still look the same?
Why am I so creeped out by this?
Because at least Brian Ritchie is VERY creepy.

I was flipping channels and caught this, too. Gah, I remember being 16 and going to a Femmes concert and thinking I was SO COOL…smoking clove cigarettes in the parking lot…
Ugh! Seeing them on CNN Headline News with that silly anchorwoman playing along (badly) on the snare drum…
I felt very, very, very old.
I guess I’ve never really seen them before or something, because I really don’t remember them looking like accountants (at least the lead singer).
