Black Africans and Ancient Egypt?

I don’t know if there’s any way to prove this hypothetical, but SUPPOSE that somehow it were proven that the ancient Egyptians weren’t “black” in the way we use the term.

For ME, that would change nothing. For me, Egypt would remain a very important and absolutely fascinating civilization well worth studying.

Would Black Pride advocates feel that way? Or would they lose interest in Egypt completely if it turned out Ramses was more closely related to, say, Persians than to Nubians?

I think it’s a self answering question. I’ve never had an encounter with a “Cleopatra was black, y’know” type that got past that to more general discussion. So my evidence that the Black Pride crowd is interested in Egypt’s other history is “not.”

I should note that my dog’s name is Egyptian, and I have a t-shirt with his name and title in heiroglyphics, so Egypt comes up fairly often in chats.
