Blanche Lincoln won in Arkansas

Rich != politically competant. Being a CEO doesn’t make you capable of governing, and in fact is probably a liability to the constituency.

But what if you’re a failed CEO like Fiorina? Mightn’t that mean she’d be a fine public servant?

While anarchy may sound like a fun way to spend the summer, eventually you’re going to need a camp counselor to stop the mob from stealling the conch and killing Piggy.

Less than 1% of households earn more than 250K and yet 38% think that we are taxing them enough.

Less any 0.1% earn more than a million (and would guess tha less than 1% will ever have even one year at that income level) and yet there is a signifciant minority that think millionaires pay enough.

Yes, as long as someone has failed at pretty much everything they’ve ever tried, and been bailed out by friends/relatives. Then you’re golden, apparently.

I personally think that if someone has “CEO” on their resume, they should be completely barred from running for any elected position.

She oversaw the offshoring of thousands of jobs. I can’t wait to see her answer when she has to explain it away.

What does the top 1% of Arkansas’s population equal in real people?

About 1%, I should imagine.

Only 3. The others are all supercomputers who can pass a Turing Test.

Aside from her recent failure to win 50% of the vote and much more recent win in the runoff, she’s been in the news most for sponsoring a very harsh amendement to the Wall street reform bill. If included in the bill after it comes out of conference, banks will be barred from trading almost all types of financial derivatives, costing them billions in revenue. This is probably not lurking guest’s preferred example of how Lincoln caters to the richest 1%.

She’s already begging me for money again.

She won, but I saw on the news that she’s being sued by some town or county or whatever they have in that state because of voting irregularities. So maybe she didn’t really win. Sound familiar? Just how close to Florida IS Arkansas??

Mississippi and a tiny piece of Alabama are between us.

That county didn’t plan to open enough polling places. They must give a thirty day notice, and when they figured out they didn’t have enough it was less than thirty days to the run off. The guy at fault resigned.
I sill hate her guts for chickening out and voting to continue funding the war in Iraq, but Halter would never state his position on an issue, he just bitched about Lincoln. Got him pretty far, though. I bit the bullet, held my nose, mixed my metaphors, and voted for her.

Could we just maybe try it out for a week or two? I am not entirely convinced it’s a good idea, but I’d like to see it in action for a bit, and I’m still optimistic enough to think that if we did it this year maybe we wouldn’t be so tempted next year.

We’ll call it the Drizzle of Terror.

They don’t. It’s just that “their own interest” encompasses much more than what will get them the most of someone else’s tax money.

Believe it or not, there are people in this country who feel that human beings are happier and better served by free enterprise and individual responsibility and the freedom to work and earn and live as they see fit and are capable.

There are some straight lines that are so great, no joke is possible.

One is left to wonder then what makes them so great.

Faux-intellectual nincompoop!

Well, its just when I read it I heard the voice of that beauty pageant contestant blithering about America teaching geography to South African kids…

Well, I suppose some people get as close to beauty pageant contestants as they can even if it only amounts to hearing their voices.
