Bleaching body hair

I have very pale skin, and black hair. This is fine as long as such hair remains in the usual places. However, I have some dark arm hair that I find hideous. I’ve tried waxing before, but I got so many ingrown hairs that it looked like I had some kind of pox, so I stopped that. So now, I’ve started bleaching it. This is working fine, except that the cream tingles/stings a bit while I’ve got it on (I’m using the Jolen Creme Bleach for body hair). I mixed it as directed. I don’t think it’s an allergic reaction, because the last time I bleached there was no redness or hives afterwards, it just tingled/stung while the cream was on.

Does anyone else get this reaction or am I perhaps overly sensitive to the formula? Any other suggestions for lightening the hair?

Jolen Cream is nothing but acid and ground glass. My sister and I (both with white, white complexions and dark hair) tried that when we were teenagers and ran shrieking into the bathroom after ten seconds.

L’Oreal “les Blondissimes” hair dye. I don’t care if it says don’t use it anywhere but on your head–I’ve been using it on my arms for years. It may tingle a bit, but it works and is nowhere near as searingly painful as Jolen.

Yikes. :eek: I managed to last the whole 10 minutes, but not without a lot of twitching.

Thanks for the suggestion! I think I will try the L’Oreal stuff.
