Let me get this right. Friend gets drunk. Asks his blind friend to be the designated driver. Crashes golf cart that they were driving into a parked car while on the way to a restaurant. Nobody gets hurt. Seeing eye dog is okay. And you don’t have to have a drivers license in Peachtree, GA?
I think it’s that you don’t need a drivers licence to drive a golfcart.
Anyway how plastered can you be to actually believe your blind friend could drive, even with verbal instructions?
And what was the friend doing when he thought he could drive it?
Does this mean that they haven’t technically broken any laws? Can a blind person operate such a vehicle that requires no licence? If so,
Doh! Stupid blind golf cart drivers.
The driver should have concluded that driving blind is risky. Driving blind while accepting verbal instructions from a drunk is wayyyy to risky.
I hadn’t thought about that. After re-reading the article that makes more sense. I guess they couldn’t charge the blind man with DUI since he wasn’t the one drinking. Blind man should have known better, guess he just wanted to live dangerous for the day.
