yeah, we went out to Vegas in mid-September and checked the show out. It was a pretty damn cool. I thought the ending to be a bit weird and somewhat of a letdown, but the comedy and visual aspects were quite good. Of course, thinking about it, I don’t know what kind of ending I would have liked. The show was so unique and fun for me. The music was really good as well. Very energetic and rhythm heavy. Good stuff.
I bought the CD after the show, and although it is good, seeing it live kind of spoils it for you. I think a substantial portion of enjoying the music was the visual amazement of watching these guys manipulate those pipe-backpack contraptions into something that sounded good. And that’s not to say that I don’t like the CD, it just doesn’t have that “kick” that seeing it live gave off. Part of the time I was there, I found myself wishing that I was on acid (that was probably the only time I wanted to do acid in the past five years–yuk). It was so easy to just kind of back away and lose yourself in the incredible imagery unfolding around you.
I guess that sounds kind of corny, but I was really impressed with the show. I don’t know how else to explain it. I was on a big adrenaline rush the whole night after the show let out. You can ask the girlfriend, I think after about 3 hours of me bouncing off the walls she was ready to drop me off on a corner somewhere. I was surprised to see them in the Pentium commercials, those started airing shortly after we got back.
