Blue MoonšŸŽ¶

I’ve got a loveryly bunch of coconuts . . .

One partly cloudy night I saw a full moon with a pale rainbow halo around it. The halo was at least 3 moon diameters out from the moon.

That is a serious spotlight in the sky. Whoa, whoda thunk one percent would make a difference.

Halo around a full moon is created by ice crystals in the upper atmosphere.

A rainbow around the sun is caused by the same thing.
