Blues-Rock Suggestions

I am looking for some blues-rock albums like Stevie Ray Vaughan or Kenny Wayne Shepherd to buy. I like old and new stuff.

What bands are similar? Please list song titles also.

Thanks

Start the the classics: Muddy Waters, B. B. King, Howlin’ Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Robert Johnson, etc. These are the guys your favorites listened to.

More modern names include Taj Mahal, George Thorogood, the Allman Brothers.

Well, you named my top two in the OP. Other similar sounding groups include Indigenous and Johnny Lang (no songs to cite, sorry, don’t have any of their CDs). Jeff Healey is a good one; “Nice Problem to Have” comes to mind.

Also, ZZ-Top’s older stuff (i.e. the 70s as opposed to the 80s).

If you really like Stevie Ray, be sure to include plenty of Albert King and Buddy Guy, who were two of his big influences.

It’s most unlike me to recommend a female vocalist, but you owe it to yourself to give Susan Tedeschi a listen. YOW!

Johnny Lang’s not bad, either.
