Bluetooth device battery question

I am thinking of getting this retro phone handset which will connect to my my cellphone with Bluetooth. They have other ones that will connect directly to your phone with standard 3.5mm plug but I don’t want that, this handset will sit on my coffee table, because my cell is often in the bedroom when I get or want to make a call

So since this handset will not be connected directly to the phone, it uses a a battery. WIll the battery be in use when I am not on a call? If I have to charge it every couple of days, that doesn’t work for me because I will forget to do so, and when I need to use it it will not be charged.

I tried to find this answer online but the only results I got where about whether or not using this handset would drain my phone’s battery, I already knew that wasn’t the case.

What I really wanted was a headset like this that had a base, that looked like an old phone, even if the dial didn’t actually work, can’t seem to find that. Found landline retro phones but no bluetooth included

You can’t make calls from it …
You can turn it off when you’re not using it … if you can hear your phone ringing from your
bedroom you could just turn it on when you need to.
But yes, it will need to be charged occasionally.
Here’s the manual (such as it is).

In order to maintain a Bluetooth connection to your phone, the device needs to powered. So yes, it will always be using the battery, even when you’re not on a call. Of course I know nothing specific about the device so I can’t say how long the battery will last between charges.

that will work. I wasn’t thinking of getting it because I will use it often, just a cool retro thing. I have do not disturb on my phone for every one except Mom for possible emergencies. If I want to talk to someone on the phone, I’ll pick it up and call.
