Kroger just robocalled me based on our recent grocery buying data.
Boar’s Head is recalling about 7 million pounds of meat:
A 61pp PDF OF ALL THE LABELS INVOLVED IN THE RECALL
A 1pp PDF THAT LISTS ALL THE PRODUCTS INVOLVED IN THE RECALL
FYI: my packaged chicken chorizo sausage … looks … solid.
I would toss any deli meat and cheese you’ve purchased in the last ten days from a store that carries Boars Head.
I hope their specialty hummus dips are okay.
I won’t say you’re wrong, but why cheese? The plant involved doesn’t make cheese and no cheese is mentioned in the recall. You think cross-contam in the store from the slicer? Every Publix deli I’ve ever been to has different slicers for the meat and the cheese.
This sucks; food costs are skyrocketing as it is.
Couldn’t you/one take it back to the store where it was purchased and get a full refund?
I know Kroger advised me to do exactly this.
That’s what I did for the deli meat I bought last Friday night (the 1st day of the recall.) It was turkey and chicken but I didn’t feel comfortable in case of cross-contamination and they had no problem taking it back the next day for a refund.
I guess it’s down to how confident you are in your supermarket’s policies being followed.
