We had a thread last month with a funny endorsement, but I can’t recall who it was for.
It’s been awhile since I saw Steve Martin. Still has that dry sense of humor. How to make a wad of paper. Priceless. 
I remember! The West Wing cast made a PSA / political ad last month.
I wish all the ads were this clever. Steve Martin’s is really funny too.
I just saw it and thought it was great, typical Steve Martin (didn’t hurt that it was for a Republican). But the whole ‘how to make a wad of paper’ thing, was that a parody of his opponents ad? Did they try to explain something simple with a long-winded description? Anyone got a link to it if this is the case?
Well, I have to say this one didn’t work for me. I thought Martin was funny but I didn’t feel they made a connection to Kerrey’s campaign.
The West Wing ad for Bridget McCormack, Chuck Norris’ ad for Mike Huckabee, and even Paris Hilton’s ads about John McCain were better in my opinion.
I’m with Little Nemo. If there was some correlation, maybe. If one of the captions had been about how Kerrey doesn’t overly complicate simple things it would have tied in better.
Maybe I am misunderstanding your post, but Bob Kerrey is a Democrat.
Huh!? Don’t know how I screwed that up! Oh well, I still respect Martin’s endorsement simply because he’s not usually partisan (and because I’m not from Nebraska and don’t have to care too much!)…
