How stupid!
Maybe he can recover but after the wife gets her due and he lands another job there will be a lot of ground to make up.

The 25 year old woman just got a job in the athletic department, and worse, she is engaged to another athletic department employee. Petrino is married with four kids.
The scripts just write themselves, don’t they?
What a tragedy. He was such a class act and an honorable man. I feel so sad that this misfortune has befallen a great leader.
Damn if my sarcastometer isnt’ broken.
Mine, too.
Petrino: "Today, I’ve acknowledged this previous inappropriate relationship with my family and those within the athletic department administration.”
See, it was a previous inappropriate relationship! Nothing’s going on right now, in case anyone wondered if there was continuing hanky-panky while he’s recovering from the broken ribs and cracked neck vertebra.
I think everybody is missing the key question here: Is the other woman single now?
It gets worse…I just read that Petrino was the one that hired her. I bet Mrs. Petrino has either a lawyer or a new piece of really nice jewelry next week. Possibly both.
Here’s what was posted to her wedding site before it was taken down.
So now Bobby Petrino reveals he had a 25 year old female as a passenger on his motorcycle during his accident. He just decided to reveal this information before the police report was released.
I guess the only solution is to quit his job without notice in the middle of the season.
Merged threads.
You guys have got it all wrong. Petrino set himself up to get caught. He’s trying to change his reputation from that of disloyal, grass-is-greener-on-the-other-side wanderer to that of horny old bastard. Everything is under control.
I’ve done some calculations that prove that there’s no way a 51-year-old man could’ve possibly been riding that model motorcycle with a 25-year-old woman on the back. The weights and angles make it physically impossible. This whole thing sticks of a setup.
Are you saying that Petrino was responsible for setting the explosives in the WTC? That’s ridiculous! (I mean, everyone knows that he fired the missiles at the Pentagon.)
I volunteer to be part of the Myth Busters test. I will drive the motorcycle with the 25 year old hottie to test if this is possible. She has to hold on tight.
I’m not sure that is true. However, there is a lot of suspicion that his offensive sets were sending cryptic messages to Al Qaeda.
On a more serious level:
It is amazing that men who are otherwise intelligent, calculating and study the weaknesses of others and the odds in a given situation can be so blind in regard to their personal life. A coach like Petrino will spend hours looking for weaknesses in opponents. If one of his players makes a stupid mistake you know that the guy will hear about it and get a full dress-down. The game of football is totally strategic and plays are called based on odds.
So this guy hires this hottie. I’m not sure if the “inappropriate relationship” began before or after the hiring but nevertheless, these days, that is a recipe for disaster. Then he goes for a motorcycle ride. That is inherently dangerous but he can’t see the potential downside. He pursues this whole thing anyway.
I suppose I’m hijacking my own tread. I could Pit him for fun but I think it is more a lesson on how sexual desire can totally override reason.
I wonder if Elliot Spitzer reads this board?
I have to plead ignorance on this. I didn’t know who Petrino was before this because I don’t follow football, but is it really that big of a deal that an older man cheated on his wife? Why would he lose his job over this? Who cares if he cheated?
He’s got a morals clause in his contract and he has exposed the university to potential litigation by boinking his subordinate. The fact that he hired her, and she is (or at least was) engaged to another employee in the athletic department pretty much seals the deal.
My elegant solution to this problem: suspend Petrino for a year, then let him and Sean Payton swap jobs. After their respective suspensions are served, they go back to their former roles.
Wow, that’s news to me. Is it normal to have a morals clause for college football coaches?
