List here the best example of a “respectable” film that has made reference to or shown those bodily funtions that are not often shown…
A couple of guidelines…
Men at urinals are pretty common and aren’t going to win you any awards.
Crude movies like Dumb and Dumber or Blazing Saddles are too easy.
My nomination: Nicole Kidman at the beginning of Eyes Wide Shut

Olympia Dukakis in Steel Magnolias. There’s a scene where she she’s in the bathroom reading a book of trivia on the toilet.

Vincint in the bathroom reading right before he gets blow away by Butch in ‘Pulp Fiction’.
Cate Blanchett is in the outhouse at the beginning of The Missing.
Jane Fonda using the toilet in “Fun With Dick and Jane.”
(Hmm. Is that the right title? Yuppies fallen on hard times turning to bank robbery.)
In “Two Weeks Notice”, Sandra Bullock’s IBS flaring up during a traffic jam, and Hugh Grant talking a couple in an RV into letting Sandra use their toilet. I remember the background music was “Taking Care of Business.”
Also, in “Gas Food Lodging”, there is a scene in which the mom (I forgot the actress’s name) is sitting on the toilet and realizes she needs a tampon, but the older daughter (Ione Skye) used the last one, so Mom is seen rolling up some toilet paper to use instead.
How about the fact that Tom Hanks has been in at least 9 movies where his urination/need to urinate was focused on?
Hanks’ characters also have a recurring theme of bladder issues. In Forrest Gump, Forrest meets JFK and blurts out, “I gotta pee!” In Road To Perdition Michael Sullivan replies “it also makes me piss” when asked if coffee makes him sweat. In The Green Mile, Paul Edgecombe is afflicted with an extremely painful prostatic hypertrophy, which John Coffey (Michael Clarke Duncan) cures. In A League of Their Own, Jimmy Dugan makes his entrance into the locker room highly hung over, seemingly unaware of all the female ballplayers present, and takes a very long stretch at the urinal, as the women look on in disbelief. When he finally finishes, Madonna’s character says, “That was some good peein’!” Hanks’ characters are also seen urinating in the movies The Money Pit, Big, Cast Away, and Apollo 13. In The Terminal, Hanks’ character runs to the bathroom after waiting all day at a pay phone for a call about a job.
Thomas Jeffrey Hanks (born July 9, 1956) is an American actor and filmmaker. Known for both his comedic and dramatic roles, he is one of the most popular and recognizable film stars worldwide, and is regarded as an American cultural icon. Hanks' films have grossed more than $4.9 billion in North America and more than $9.96 billion worldwide, making him the fourth-highest-grossing actor in North America. He has received numerous honors including the AFI Life Achievement Award in 2002, the Hank...
I must say though, that in “The Green Mile” I believe his problem was more UTI than just BPH alone.
Wow, that takes me back. That was considered pretty unusual at the time, I might add.
The poor sap in Unforgiven gets his while sitting on the can. In Demolition Man Stallone can’t figure out how to use the “three shells”.
The Right Stuff depicts astronaut Alan Shepard’s long wait (lying on his back) in his Mercury capsule as the launch is delayed. Ultimately, he urinates in his spacesuit.
In Beloved , Oprah hikes up her skirt and squats and pees in her yard.
A T-Rex raids an outdoor lavatory for a man-snack in Jurassic Park .
In Holy Smoke , Kate Winslet stands naked and urinates on herself in defiance of Harvey Keitel.
Vincent uses the bathroom three times in that movie, and every time, something really bad happens.
Danny Glover on the throne in one of the Lethal Weapon movies, number two I think. (speaking of bad things happening on the pot)
Jessica Lange pees twice in Rob Roy .
I’m impressed this thread made it this far with no mention of the infamous opening scene from Waterworld . Kevin Costner taking a leak in a jug, filtering it, then drinking it was quite memorable.
Damn…you did say respectable in the OP.
One of the characters in The Ladykillers has Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and discusses it at great length. (The recent Tom Hanks/Coen brothers version).

Jodie Foster in Panic Room . With sound effects, even!
Robert Downey Jr lets one rip just for the heck of it in Short Cuts.
I always thought that Hanks / Dougan was peeing into the sink in “A League of their own” - or is my memory playing tricks?
