Body piercing/jewelry question...

I have now twice lost the small ball that screws onto my belly button jewelry. It’s a Helix style loop. Here’s my question, I have a plain silver ball that I don’t really care about on one end, but the other has the jeweled-sparkly looking one. Can I use a drop of glue on that end (before I put it in) to ensure it will stay put? Any other suggestions on how to hold on to the damn things??

I would check with a pro before you put that glue on there, but if it is non-toxic there shouldn’t be a problem.

But please check with the shop where you got pierced first to see if this is a good idea.

Man, I hate when that happens. I lost a couple myself, and it’s always the ball end with the pretty sparkly jewel.

I believe I remember the jewelry guy telling me that people did glue their balls on, but I’d ask first, just in case.

It’s even more fun when that happens with a tongue piercing! I’ve swallowed 2 of them so far, without even realizing it. I think glue is a good idea…I don’t see how it could hurt. Of course, I don’t know shit.

I have a ring through th ecartilage in my ear with a ball at one end and a spike at the other. The spike was a bit loose [damn thing wouldn’t stay on], so I bought some Pro Lok at the hardware store. It’s a removable thread lock. A little bit on the threads and then screwed into the ball keeps the ball from falling off, BUT, you can still unscrew it anytime. You don’t want to get it on you, but once it’s set, it’s safe to put the ring back in your navel. It’s costs around $3.

I don’t know about gluing it on, but next time you go to buy one, get one that is internally threaded instead of externally threaded. Instead of the ball screwing onto the bar, the bar inself is hollow and the ball has a little… screw-on thing attached to it that screws into the bar. Um, that probably didn’t make any sense, but… you know

They’re more expensive but the ball doesn’t ball off constantly.
