Loser Whining is a long tradition in politics. You get the same thing here in Canada, where the parties that lose the election often whine the party in power is, well, doing what they said they would, rather than what the losers want. It’s really an amazing phenomenon; immediately after losing the election, the losers will begin whining that the winning party isn’t listening to them. Well, if you don’t like it, don’t lose the election, Losey McLoserton.

I would further point out that at least in Canada, it’s an all-party phenomenon.

Instead of blaming Obama they should take a good look at themselves. Too many extremists as their base?

I hate that somehow the term “base” is being used to mean “far right tea party religious fundie nutjobs”.

A “base” sounds legit. The base of a building is a firm foundation, upon which you can build something worth standing.

The Republican “base” is not a foundation, nor stable.

Exactly. The Teahadists have been accusing the Democrats doing the things the Teahadists are doing for a number of years now. It’s their SOP.

“Never Interfere With an Enemy While He’s in the Process of Destroying Himself”

I’m sure the President of the United States (again) has better things to do than hasten the self-imposed annihilation of the GOP.

Excuse me? I have been a registered republican for over 30 years, since I was 18 and old enough to register to vote, and to exercise my franchise. Todays bull fucking shit republican fuckall crap makes me regret registering repub all those years ago. I have not voted for a republican for an office in almost 8 years because of the crap they are pulling. I keep hoping one of us will develop some balls to stand up and tell our party off, and every time my party approaches me with some damned fucked up screwball conspiracy grade bullshit with a request for money, I tell them exactly what I think of them and it never seems to help any. The only thing that keeps me registering repub is the way it allows me to vote in preelections so I can try to vote down the worst of the tin foil hat asswipes trying to get into office.

DO NOT COUNT ME AS ONE OF YOUR BRAINWASHED ASSHAT VOTERS. I am republican with the brains to actually research the issues and vote accordingly, not because someone claims to be republican and needs my vote. I find stupidity in almost everything the current crop of republicans opens up and vomits out.

Yeah, I went to a Libertarian college (Wm. F. Buckley was a constant lecturer-- Hillsdale has all his writings archived) and considered myself a Republican. A good friend of mine was the Treasurer of the State Republican Party. He had a great line at the pub the other night:

“I’d like to apologize for the party that uses the name Republican. The party I was part of believed in small
government, fiscal conservatism, and sanity. George Bush’s handlers didn’t believe in any of those
principles, and the party’s been bent into a wicked-yet-sometimes-hilarious caricature of its former label.”
