Bomb hostages? Hillary HQ in NH? What IS this sh!t?

And I’d bet that if she hadn’t cancelled her appearances, wanting to give the impression of a strong unafraid leader, at least one person would complain that she “didn’t even care about her subordinates, being more focussed on her political goals”. (Note that this is not accusing anyone in particular especially on this MB.)

whenever I see comments like this (not from you, jayjay, but from whoever was reporting it) I think of Condi Rice saying “no one could have predicted…”

I wouldn’t vote for her if she were covered in chocolate, but I think canceling her appearances until this is resolved is a smart idea. Under the circumstance, I can’t see any candidate continuing to campaign while their volunteers are in danger.

Why do I find the idea of HC covered in chocolate peculiarly stimulating? I loathe her and generally don’t eat much chocolate…

See, though, you’re both sane and fundamentally decent, which can’t really be said (either/or/both) for the people who are currently wallowing over at Free Republic and RedState in the buttery goodness of the virtual popcorn they’ve been e-chugging since this began this afternoon.

I’m pretty sure that regardless of his political affiliation, he’s a lunatic.

I would bet that the bomb is a fake, and that ultimately no one will get hurt. Can a bomb be made out of flares?

Waiddaminnit! You mean there’s a right-leaning message board that can be just as biased and vicious as this one?

To elaborate on this, it was reported (on Fox, so take your grain of salt before believing) that this man had bought highway flares this morning. Flares do look like dynamite if you’re not particularly familiar with actual dynamite.

We’re Mother Teresa’s Public Face compared to places like Free Republic, RedState and Little Green Footballs. Of course this board is left-leaning, but it’s not a political specialty board. Hell, even Daily Kos isn’t as vicious as those places. I can’t really say the same for Democratic Underground or Think Progress, necessarily.

After Barbara Streisand endorsed her, that was the final nail in the coffin for me. Then Oprah endorsed Obama, and suddenly Hillary started to look a little better.

So, after Hillary got the news, for how many minutes did she keep reading a picture book to schoolchildren?

Oh, are they like the DemocraticUnderground folks who bemoaned the fact that Pres Bush didn’t die from choking on a pretzel, and how sad it was the bomber missed killing Cheney?

Eye-rolling loons on both sides, my friend. I checked out the Free Republic site several years ago…I find **elucidator **more intelligent, witty, and stimulating, even though he and I are polar opposites.

I never said they weren’t.

I have a suggestion: make your decisions about political candidates based on their policies, not based on which celebrities happen to endorse them.

Sorry, I guess I’m a bit sensitive, being in the political minority on this board. We agree there are embarrassments on both sides of the spectrum.

Drudge is reporting the man’s wife is saying he’s a paranoid schizophrenic who is off his meds.

I foresee a Law & Order episode…

That was going to be my question/comment; if someone is a viable candidate, they’re a viable candidate no matter who endorses them.

Unless Duke of Rat is saying these celebrity endorsers cause him to question the intelligence and rationality of his choices.

Yeah, I was being totally serious.

Damn, a double whoosh!

That’s okay. I was just slightly miffed that you overlooked the fact that I was complimenting you, personally, and only took the comments about FR and RedState to heart.

Oh, I saw that part. Thanks for not lumping me in with the Freepers! Also, thank you for the visual image of e-chugging virtual popcorn…that was very nice.

Oh, sorry this is the Pit. Um, fuck people with mental illness who don’t take their meds?
