I just assume that Brennan actually uses a ghost writer and didn’t tell anyone. Saves lots of trouble.
Also is divorced, a vegetarian, hates guns, listens to popular music, recites song lyrics to calm herself down, doesn’t know martial arts, etc etc etc.
The characters share a name, gender, and job description. Other than that, they are as different as possible. I’m kinda amazed that Reichs approved it in the first place.
Kathy Reichs is producer but she may not have creative control over the scripts and casting. Usually TPTB buy the rights to the material and then do what they want with it. Hence Tom Cruise being cast as Lestat in “Interview with a Vampire.”
I’m very glad that the “Bones” writers backed off a bit on Brennan’s super-power skills. The first season was really hurt by her unbelievable athletic prowess, where she could take on armed men with a round-house kick. :rolleyes:
When Bones says “I don’t know what that means,” she’s not saying “I don’t know anything about that.” I think it’s a statement to be taken at face value–She is aware of popular culture, she just doesn’t get what it means. She is not an idiot, and she does have access to the Internet. She is just not interested in and does not get any aspect of popular culture.
