First off- Cindy Lauper looks great and I didn’t even mind her voice much at all.
Scroll down space.
All of a sudden all those rational doctors believe in psychics? Even Babyface. Babyface believed in Cindy-- except he pulled out Boothe’s CAT scans. That just did not follow at all.
Second best? Blah! Screw second best. Like everybody but him didn’t know he loved her before his stupid coma. HE was the only one who didn’t know. ‘I love you like a friend’ isn’t second best. It’s the same thing as last season. I don’t want a declaration of undying love and a wedding and kids right now, but some forward motion would have made me happy.
I wasn’t surprised that Angela would go along with the psychic stuff, but Sweets should know better. Even worse, the script itself seemed to lend a lot of credibility to the psychic’s abilities. They never explained how she knew where the bodies were buried, or how she knew so much about Brennan and Booth. It wasn’t even good cold reading, she just flipped the cards and pronounced the facts.
It reminded me of the episode last season when Brennan met the ghost of Booth’s friend, without knowing he was a ghost. No mumbo jumbo, please!
And, as long as I’m here, what was with the unexplained clown walking up to Booth on the street and harassing him out of nowhere? That was a really clumsy way of establishing that Booth’s brain incident had an effect on his personality.
The only trend I agree with is that it looks like we might get to see more of Caroline this season.
A speargun spear leaves no entry wound and an exit wound that is not square because of the collapsible barbs? Ground penetrating radar that I complimented for being so much better than the real thing? My nitpicking didn’t extend to why Cyndi Lauper is no longer a Person of Interest, but I will press for her next song to be “Time After Time,” preferably sung by a guitarist singing in Spanish and following Randy Hickey.
I have already expressed my pleasure that Bones has killed Ugly Betty, but displeasure that it killed Earl, too.
Ugh! Big ugh! I mean, I don’t care that the characters believe in her, but I hate that in the show’s universe it’s real. I hated the supernatural elements they added last season and was so happy when they explained those all away as symptoms of Booth’s brain problem. But now they are adding those elements again. I’m fine with Bones coming to terms with non rational things that have a human element, like emotion and ideals, but I’m not OK with non rational elements that are supernatural invading the show.
Yeah. I kept waiting for the Big Reveal to be that Cindy Lauper’s character killed them all, and was wondering what the reason would be for her suddenly revealing the location.
