Dammit! I came in to post that.
Saving Private Ryan
The Butler Did It
It’s probably not true, but I’ve read that the Chinese title for The Sixth Sense translates as He’s a Ghost.
John Dies at the End. Admittedly, I haven’t actually read it yet.
The Omega Man/The Last Man on Earth/I am Legend (non Will Smith version)
The Return of the Jedi
The Revenge of the Sith
Fat Man and Little Boy
Saving Private Ryan
According to TV Tropes, John doesn’t die at the end.
How about the Golden Books classic There is a Monster at the End of this Book? (and its sequel)
Indeed he does not.
Flight of the Phoenix
Things To Do In Denver When You’re Dead
Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead
Along the same lines as “not The Way We Are” is Waiting For Godot.
aren’t a lot of these not really spoiling the ending but rather detailing the plot. Seriously.
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead doesn’t spoil the fact that they are dead… it doesn’t spoil anything since the play is exploring the idea that they only exist as characters for a function in a story. They are not really alive or dead.
Saving Private Ryan doesn’t spoil the ending. That would have to be “It Was Private Ryan All Along!” to be a spoiler or “The Captain Dies” Their missing is going to be ‘saving Private Ryan’ it doesn’t say they DO it.
If the first two (which I have not seen) are anything like the third, then I would say they explicitly obfuscate rather than give away the ending.
