What does the MGs stand for in Booker T’s band?
My WAG is that it’s from the MG sports car, whose name came from “Morris Garages.”

According to the Wikipedia entry, Chips Moman claims the name came from his M.G. car and that the “Memphis Group” explanation was manufactured after he left the band.
