Anyone know any books along the lines of the movie “The Others”? Specifically, something written from the point of view of a ghost among the living.
spoiler (hey, you should put one of those in the thread title)
There’s a book called “The Other” by Tom Tryon that was made into a film in the 1970s. It’s not from the POV of the ghost, exactly, more of a split personality, but one of the “personalities” is the boy’s dead twin brother.
Yes, you’re right. I saw that movie so long ago that I never even thought of that as a spoiler.
How would a short story strike you? It’s from the POV of a ghost who explains why she committed suicide, and what she does now. http://www.geocities.com/theevilwriter/post.html I think I write better than I did then (Sophomore in college) but I still like this story
I thought this one looked interesting:
“Alice Sebold’s haunting and heartbreaking debut novel, The Lovely Bones, unfolds from heaven, where “life is a perpetual yesterday” and where Susie narrates and keeps watch over her grieving family and friends, as well as her brazen killer and the sad detective working on her case.” – review from Amazon.com
