Books or Sources in teaching cultural awareness?

I’ve recently become involved in a project at work about attempting to make people more culturaly aware. So they can pick up cues about what is going on around them that may be non-verbal in nature. Having traveled quite a bit myself, I’m not at the point where I’m just more…aware of how different cultures can be and can therefore pick up a lot of the non-standard cues to help be be aware of my surroundings. Does anyone know of resources out there to help teach someone that hasn’t traveled how to go about gaining this understanding? I’m not talking about a country specific cultural guide, but rather the techniques for being aware of differences and being able to pick up on those cues that may be different from what you may be used to, but should still clue you in that something is going on.

Thanks!

Kiss, Bow, or Shake Hands has a brief introduction that gets into that a little bit, then gives examples for 60 countries.

How to Be a Perfect Stranger is a good guide for learning about other people’s religions. So you’re invited to a Greek Orthodox wedding? Have to go to a Christian Scientist funeral? This book will clue you in so you’ll know what’s going on and what you should wear, say or not say, and expect to happen. And there’s a second volume too.

Thanks all. Sorry for the long delay in repling to my own OP, but I had some emergancies crop up the past few weeks. I’m going to bump this one last time in case it got missed.
