Guys–I retired in April 22.
Putin sank my 401k.
I’ve been putting in for jobs, but I have discovered that one of my references is sick, and may die.
Another will give me a Personal reference, but not a business one.
My third I cannot contact.
Tracking down my fellow co-workers, the old friends are all dead.
My most recent Supervisor hates my guts, for retiring.
Anybody willing to be a reference, for a 99er?
I’m hard up.
Getting old means having your friends die.
What exactly do you need, Bosda? Most employers these days only verify employment, they don’t give references. And the HR department is usually the area that provides that, along with possibly saying whether they would hire you back. That along with a standard background check should get you in most places, I think.
On a very local level, I’ve “pulled strings” when I knew someone looking for a job and I knew someone hiring. Only works when all parties are local, though.
In the situation I’m remembering, both parties ended up very appreciative for my intervention.
I can give you my name and phone number, but it would just be another personal reference. PM me if you want me to vouch that we’ve known each other socially for almost 25 years.
