Boston dopers; an invitation

lorene and I were talking the other day about emerging trends in land use patterns for large-scale retail development, and the subject shifted, as it inevitably will, to bowling.

So we’re going bowling.

Will be at Kings in Dedham on the 10th, sometime between 4:30 and 5:00. (A slightly inconvenient time, I realize, but they turn down the lights and turn up the music at 6:00, so we wanted to get in ahead of such noise.)

So, come one, come all. Don’t know if we need to RSVP, or just show up with a funky shirt and socks with no holes in them.

And a little music to set the mood:

What if you can’t bowl to save your life? What is a funky shirt? Like a bowling shirt? Tie dye?

I’d love to meet up with you again. You were great at the Wait Wait recording, unfortunately I’m heading out of town tomorrow morning and not returning for a few weeks.

Bowling skill is not required. I don’t think I’ve bowled in about 15 years (although I seem to have the ability to recover thingss like that pretty quickly). And besides, what more nurturing and supportive atmosphere could you hope to practice in, than amongst dopers?

Funky shirts are similarly not required, but bowling is one of those occasions (golf is another) where you can wear things you might not normally get away with. I have a Hawaiian shirt already picked out.

btr, too bad you’ll be out of town, but I’ll usually show up at the local Dopefests.

I’ve sent a PM to Robot Arm—I have a family emergency and can’t make it. :frowning: If anyone feels like rescheduling, let me know.

Boston Dopers need to start bowling on weekends so I can go to things like this too.

I feel like rescheduling. My schedule is pretty wide open (weekends included), so whenever lorene can make it will probably work for me, too.
