Whoa, Michael J. Fox showed up. Was it me, or did the director try not to linger on him for very long?
Kirk vs. Odo: “I’m the captain…You’re just a deckhand!”
The dancing scene between Denny and Alan was a hoot.
Can Asperger’s really be used as a legal defense?
Michael J. Fox was in last week’s episode also. Yeah, I think they use some creative angles to try to hide his Parkinsons somewhat, but in the bed scene you could see his shoulder kind of shaking. I was thinking to myself that this is the first time I have ever seen MJF with his shirt off!! That’s a pretty brave choice for an actor who has Parkinsons to do scenes without his shirt, seems to me.
I think Fox is doing a fabulous job in this show, looks like he will be around for a few more episodes at least.
I’m glad the story of “Hands” has run it’s course. The guy was annoying. But Alan Shore can’t resist a hard luck case.
Loved the scenes with Denny and Paul. My husband and I think that they do not use Paul enough, we would really like to see more of his back story other than him just being the “bad guy” partner.
I’m still not quite sure what they are going to do with Denny’s new fiance. I have a feeling she is going to break his heart pretty soon. William Shatner just gets better and better in this show. The dancing scene was priceless!!! Dancing with the Stars indeed!!!
It was on last week?!! Oops… I was on vacation at the time and obviously missed it.
Joanna Cassidy and Candice Bergen are like oil and water. I can’t wait for the real fireworks between them to start. The bar scene went in Candice’s favor, I suppose, but I suspect we haven’t heard the last of Joanna. I certainly hope not.
The character she played on Six Feet Under, not to mention the snake gal in Blade Runner, was another breed of cat. I really hope they keep her around long enough for a real claw-and-spit encounter with Candice.
Did anyone else notice during last weeks show that, when Denny opened his flip-style cellphone, it made the same sound used with the communicators from the original Star Trek series?
I love it when they throw in little Trek references, like the time Alan mentioned “klingons” to Denny when talking about marine parasites invading their favorite fishing grounds.
Have there been others that I missed?
Yes, there have been others, most noticably in those final “balcony scenes,” but I’m having trouble recalling specifics. I seem to recall Shatner mentioning winning an Emmy in one of them, and wasn’t there a case where they were on the balcony well before the hour was up and Shatner said, “Oh. Are we through yet?” (or words to that effect.)
They seem to delight in the inside jokes. That, plus the really oddball characters and situations, mixed in with current topics like Katrina, are what gives the show its edge for me. Never fail to be surprised by their cleverness and chutzpah.
Small though the role was, I was delighted to see one of my favorite television actresses – the lovely Megan Gallagher – in this episode.
“I like your hair.”
